During the week the beaches were nearly deserted. White sand and clean with many walkways and BBQ facilities. Chinaman's Beach is a short walk from the nearest parking.

I went to several spots around Jervis Bay on recommendation from someone else that it was whitest beach in Australia and I would have to say that I 100% disagree with this. The beach was tiny and the sand was more brown than white. Whitehaven Beach is way way way better than this. I was talking to others that went... More

We really enjoyed this beach because the sands are so clean and white. It was sheer paradise just to walk along the beach and paddle in the water. This is surely one of the best beaches in Australia.

I have always wanted to visit Jervis Bay and now I have I cannot wait to go back. Turquoise water, silky white sand and basically the whole beach to yourself. Just divine.

The water there is warm, calm and crystal clear. one thing I really like about Jervis Bay is that it is covered in bushes and forest with lots of birds and other wildlife. Best if you come in winter beacause you might spot whales out in the open ocean!

If you're looking for the beach with the rumoured "whitest" sand, then stop looking - this is it. Gorgeous, but if you come during the tourist season be aware.....parking is horrendous and the land owners can get pretty cheesed off when you park in front of their homes. They seem to think the kerb is their own private property.

If you're going to visit one beach while you're in Shoalhaven (or even Australia) then you should probably make it this one. The Guiness Book claims that this is the whitest beach in the world. The protection of the bay ensures the water is always perfect for swimming and the enormous length of it means you can have as much... More

We visited Hyams on a weekend. It was a warm day, the sea looked lovely. Unfortunately so did 2000 other people. For these 2000 people only 2 toilets are provided. The dunes are covered in used toilet paper, dirty nappies abound, there is human excrement and the whole area smells like a giant urinal. It is absolutely disgusting. The lagoon... More
