Spent about a week here and got to relax completely. The beach is pretty good and very beautiful, it stretches way far so plenty of room for the many backpackers and other tourists. The day starts of with a run/workout on the beach, followed by an easy going pace during the day. The town is re-energized when the sun sets... More

I was here on Xmas. Everything is closed so that is not so great. The paces you find opened are very expensive like everything here is. It's beatiful though..

It was too cold to swim, so we just sat on the rocks for an hour and watched the energy of the waves and the surfers. It there had been less wind we would have had a swim... I promise!

Overpriced, overrated, pretentious, busy. No redeeming features. The council has decided to milk the tourists and locals with outrageous parking fees. Even mid week not enough parking, the roads are crowded. I couldnt find any reason I would ever visit here again. There are nicer beaches on the Gold Coast and cheaper even free parking. Dont think much of the... More

There is just something about this place that I love so much, although it has become quite touristy ,there is a such a vibe about this place ,it is a small time with night life and beach life that holds a special place in my heart

Everyone has to go to Byron Bay eventually. Would I want to spend a lot of time there? No! Gathering place for backpackers and those that choose not to work. Bit of arty, not much of substance.

Since Christmas, the council has introduced paid parking in Byron Bay - $3 per hour. You cannot go and top up your meter, you MUST move your car 😡😡 It is certainly hitting the locals as they must move their cars too. So Much for helping tourism in the town.

Byron is unique! It's like going back to the 1960s for atmosphere but full of plenty of modern touches. Great atmosphere. Good places to eat and drink. Great music and entertainment. Great beaches. Just great FUN.

Every visitor to Australia must visit Byron. It's not at all, what I expected. I thought it would be full of hippies wearing poo catcher pants saying "hey man" and smiling through a haze of marijuana smoke. Actually it's very stylish and sophisticated, far more so than the tacky old Gold Coast, as well as having spectacular beaches. The accommodation options... More
