We had only half day to visit Byron Bay. We went directly to the lighthouse. It was very crowded and we hardly found a place to park the car. Although, we climbed to the lighthouse and we were amazed by the views. The eastern point in Australia has the most beautiful views in this area. Then we decided to go... More

We stayed in Elandra, a House on Massenger st near a very cool cafe known as Top Shop. You can meander down to either Clarkes, Watagoes or Tallows beaches all of which are both stunning sandy beaches with excellent surf. The shopping in Byron had something for everyone. Jonson street; main high street clothes shops. Fletcher St, boutique, high end,... More

Amazing place and beaches, but best in the week before all the tourists come down for the weekend, it does get busy and the vibe changes. Shopping, dining & lying around on the beach :)

Late summer is by far the best time to visit Byron Bay, smaller crowds but still vibrant, perfect weather with 25 deg day time and 19 deg nights. Byron has something for everyone, live music, culture and art... as well as great food from many fine restaurants and café`s a foodies delight.. Best of all the pick of so many... More

What a stunning place. The water is to die for, we really have some stunning beaches and waterways in Australia, but this is up there with the best of them. I definitely get the whole attraction to Byron. The sand is white, the sun is warm, the people are diverse. That though, is a bit of a problem. There are... More

We rented a Fiat for a week while in Byron Bay and were extremely impressed with the value and service we received. The car is great fun to drive and super fuel efficient. So much better than the usual boring cars that the multinational companies rent out. And great to find a locally owned car rental business. We'll be back!
