There are plenty of interesting shops here in Byron Bay, not to mention the nice beaches and the Lighthouse trail. I found it difficult even during the weekdays, to fins some parking around time and finally parked a couple of streets away, so I could take a walk around the town.

A place for meeting people from all over the world! Rub shoulders with anyone and feel the love of hanging in a place where the hippy era is still alive!

We were here in may so off season and we loved it!! We've heard that there is a lot of partying and drunk people in the peak season so (for us) we've chosen the best time to visit the city.

LOTS of young people here, attracted by the surfing and the activity around surfing. A wide range of eating establishments, from the take-out to BYOB places to full-on good quality restaurants. Loud, noisy, brash. Worth a visit, but only a short one if you're not a surfer or are over 30.

Atmosphere, style, great shops and bars. Loved the bar at Beach hotel, excellent location. Also try the Byron Bay Brewery - terrific food and beer!

Byron Bay is the perfect location for a holiday. Somehow the town is a bit spoilt by the tacky tourism shops but the scenery is breathtaking

I found Byron bay to be a pretentious overpriced little place with very little to recommend it. A hairdry cost me 70 dollars for my teenage daughter!! It was raining and there is NOTHING to do in the rain. Horrible little place.

I heard about Nimbin area that was famous for "hippies" and marijuana but I did not realize Byron Bay is very similar. Cool little handmade goods shops and sixties themed shops and locals. It seemed like a transient area popular with back-packers etc. Nice area for a day visit wouldn't stay any longer.

There is so much to do and see - day trips, excellent eating places. Shopping, beaches, great walks, friendly locals and general relaxation
