Native vegetation on one side and gorgeous ocean vistas on the other. There are many steps and a gradual uphill climb. Not very difficult but a little challenging for very young kids with little legs.

Enjoyable walk up to the lighthouse and the eastern most point. Hilly but not too difficult a walk. Beautiful views along the way

Excellent walk and views, plus sighting a few whales. The walk isn't strenuous like reviews are saying, unless you're not relatively fit. We walked out to the point and back, with a 9 and 11 year old, with no problem. It's about 5km return. Parking is a nightmare, but worth the $7 if you can get a spot.

A daily walk to the Lighthouse... from The Pass, through Wategos and up the trail to the Lighthouse has to be one of the best walks in the world. Lots of steps, so be prepared for a work out on the way up! The option is there to come down by the road which makes for a smooth descent and... More

Mad if you don't head up to the Lighthouse to see one of the most beautiful (and THE most Eastern) parts of Australia. You are likely to see humpback whales breaching everywhere just off shore right now (July) as they head north. Word of caution - watch for the $7 parking fee and the really expensive coffee - but you... More

A strenuous walk but we'll worth it! The most amazing views ever. We saw heaps of whales (20+) doing there thing as well as dolphins and a turtle. Very exciting! Scenery just gorgeous. Stopped at the top for a lovely lunch at the cafe, informative tour inside the lighthouse and then back down the hill again to the gorgeous Watego... More

Loved this, wasn't expecting to see so many dolphins (at least 40, whales (at least 20), stingrays and turtles... All just from the walkway! Couldn't believe it.

Amazing to see the whales pass by. You need to relax and spend some time up there. The walk is quite strenuous so be prepared.

Well worth the effort to run up in the morning with outstanding views. It was a beautiful day with minimal wind which helped!!

We always like to take the bush trail up from Captain Cook car park. If you go early you will see some black wallabies along the trail along with other wildlife. Goannas like to come out when the sun is on the trail. After a few kilometres you will reach the lighthouse & if it is whale season will most... More
