We stayed at Absolutely Belongil Eco-lodge just behind the dunes at Belongil Beach - where we watched the lights on Byron on a balmy night. Just off to one side of the centre of Byron, this beach is swimmable and not crowded... yet an easy walk to all the action.

Situated at the extreme easterly end of the main Byron Bay Beach, this zone is for those who want to get away from the main crowd and either want to swim in the safest part of the beach, or surf in the most challenging, cos this is where its at! Off this beach is where the most avid surfers will... More

We spent a few days in the nude section of the beach and for most part, our stay was pleasant. We were first time nudists coz as they say when in Rome... We had no idea what to expect really but we definitely felt comfortable enough as a whole to do it again. For the entire times that we were... More

This beach is very long with a wide beach area, great for strolling, running, swimming and surfing. when we were there in February the water temperature was very swimmable as not too cold.

The sand is better at surfers beach. Waves sting pull to the side and nice size waves for children to learn to surf

We stayed at East Byron for a weekend in Mid-January and had a great time. The beach is so beautiful and the waves are nice to jump into. You can get there an umbrella there for a small donation so just enjoy. There are two small restaurants: the treehouse and the Belongi Bistro (which just serves breakfast and dinner). The... More

If you are looking for a beach without the crowds and a friendly mix of families, adolescents, locals and dogs then Belongil is for you. Soft sand, a beach you can walk and walk and easy access to some terrific food and drink offerings.

Lovely beach which allows you to bring the dog, wasn't too busy and the beach is over 1km long so you can find a spot with not to many people around.

My dog had a fantastic time at this beach. The access to this beach for the elderly and those with mobility problems is difficult. And there is only one, worn bench in the sun for those unable to sit on the sand.
