Sitting on Belongal beach to watch the sunset. Look up and there in front of us (maybe 300m away) are 2 whales! Seriously amazing! A perfect addition to the beautiful white sandy long stretch of beach, rainbow coloured horizon, lighthouse view one way and Mt Warning the other way.

The beach is about 20 minutes walk out of town at the top end so it is less busy. You are allowed to walk your dog so there is are a lot of local people which makes it seem friendly. Get views of the Byron Bay lighthouse etc... Clean and the water lovely

When skydiving in Byron Bay you get an absolutely breathtaking view of Belongil Beach. One of my my most cherished memories of Australia. The beach itself, from the ground, is just as pleasant. The sand is soft and the sunsets are beautiful. There are food shops near by (a relatively short walk depending upon where you enter the beach).

A truly stunning beach. Miles of pure white very clean sand. Not a piece of litter. A real credit to the people for the respect of such a beautiful spot.

This is a beautiful beach with lovely white sand and is also a great place for a swim in the crystal blue waters. A popular surfing beach.

My two puppies came on holiday with us to Byron Bay and Belongil beach is a leash free beach that allows dogs. They totally enjoyed their stay.

A great beach with plenty of fine white sand and warm water. Lots of people around as it is very popular with surfers swimmers and sun bathers. A place not to be missed.

We rode our Mountain bikes from the main beach at Byron, to the entry point behind Euingsdale industrial area, at low tide. Wow! what an experience! Loved it. Managed to get a bit of surfing in also. Un-crowded, warm, clean waters, and this was a week before winter
