Belongil beach is the quieter beach at Byron and lovely at sunrise when the sand is firm and not littered yet with sun bakers - although there are always a lot of sleepers in bags or last night clothes!

We eat here all the time. Awesome food, great staff. Walk off the beach & hangout. Great position - take away & sit in the beach. + good value.

This beach is much quieter than main beach and just as beautiful. We had a couple of windy days but the water is warm and great once you are in. It's so invigorating and inviting. Very clean and white sand amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our swim. Good times had :) :) still smiling !!

Brilliant on both sides of the creek, the only unfortunate thing is that people with dogs take their dog to a no go zone area in which is a place for people to go that dont have to put up with their mutts pooing on the sand and causing havoc to wildlife and beach birds

not much to disapprove about any of the byron bay beaches, walk down to the sand, turn left or right, and your welcomed by amazing sand, water, and plenty of space to throw a towel and enjoy the sun

Beautiful long beach but beware the tides. Walk along the beach into town, do a little shopping, have a meal or glass of wine. Very relaxed. Weather not as good as further north but still far warmer than in the south! Lots of choices re accommodation but beware of private properties managed by their owners, Agents are far more reliable... We visited in August and were fortunate enough to have great weather. Only a handful of locals and tourists on the beach. Truly restful and invigorating.

Stunning views, wide open beach, not too many people (particularly if you go early am). Excellent for walking, running and swimming.

Lovely clean beach away from the centre of byron. Some people were swimming but we were not sure if it was safe.
