We held our wedding and reception at Carnglaze Caverns just before Christmas. The venue was breathtaking, with the lake backlit to provide an amazing place to conduct our wedding ceremony. The reception was held upstairs in the main cavern and provided ample space for our guests to enjoy themselves. Caroline (the owner) will provide you with a full history of... More

Something different to do when it rains but will only take you around an hour. Mood lighting makes an ordinary quarry look interesting.

Set in one of the quietest places I have ever been to, this old slate mining cavern is worth a look at. It is unsurprisingly used for shows because of the acoustics and also numerous weddings! The freshwater pools are lovely. There is also a nice woodland walk of about 3/4 of a mile taking you up the hill behind.... More

I visited Carnglaze cavern on new years day, surprised it would be open, but glad it was as I had a great time. The lady in the ticket office was extremely helpful and so welcoming, I learnt a lot from her! The main pool was a treat to look at, would definitely recommend bringing a camera! The woodland walk above... More

This is a great venue for live bands. The acoustics are superb and the owner is a real gent. We thoroughly recommend this venue.

My Sister and her family and myself and my Son used a groupon voucher to visit the caverns on a Saturday afternoon. Weather was fantastic and we took a picnic. The lady in the ticket office was really lovely and helpful, gave us the talk and equipment and we went to the caves. The children did the quiz sheet and... More

My wife and I visited Carnglaze Caverns earlier this month. We loved Carnglaze and it was a highlight of our tour of north Cornwall. A visit will interest many adults and children - especially those whose parents are keen to introduce them in the wonders of the world around us. Carnglaze is a former slate quarry and mine which ceased... More

Visited with our 9 month old baby. Great little adventure for us, the information sheets round the cave were good. The mother lake was beautiful. Good baby changing facilities

I really thought these caverns were worth a look. They were very interesting and unusual. I do think the torches need to be brighter. I understand they don't want them too bright because they may disturb the bats, but they were not even bright enough to see the cavern walls that were fairly close. The biggest disappointment was that the... More
