Description: Set majestically on the banks of the River Thames, The Mill at Sonning...
Set majestically on the banks of the River Thames, The Mill at Sonning promises a unique experience not to be missed where your visit includes both dinner and a show all under one roof in a beautiful converted water mill. Start your visit with a drink (or two...) in the Water Wheel Bar or, if you visit us in the summer, take a sunny seat outside on the Mill Stream Terrace. From the bar you will make your way upstairs to our restaurant, with views out over the mill stream, where you will find your tickets and programme waiting on your table. The main course is served in buffet style but our friendly staff will be on hand to take your drinks and dessert orders. After enjoying our mouth-watering menu, prepared daily in our kitchens using only the best locally sourced ingredients, you can make your way into the main event of your visit - the theatre! The Mill Theatre itself is an intimate venue, seating just over 200 people, air conditioned with spacious and comfy seats that won't leave you longing for legroom or calling for a cushion. During the year we produce a wide variety of plays in the theatre, ranging from comedies to thrillers, as well as hosting regular music and comedy nights that will have you dancing and rolling in the aisles. Whatever your tastes, in both theatre and food, you will be sure to find something to whet your appetite here at The Mill.

Thoroughly enjoyed 'Killjoy' at Sonning Mill Theatre. Jessica Claire who played Rosie was especially brilliant...scary & funny all at the same time. The show finishes soon! Go & see it for a fun & entertaining bit of theatre. Well done to the AMAZING cast!

This was our first visit. Table allocation is in the entrance foyer. Then went through to a very attractive reasonably priced bar. When you go through to the restaurant you are handed a plate and any drinks you have brought through are then taken to your table. The buffet had a varied choice. Drinks and dessert orders are taken at... More

A return visit to the Mill but now with a newly refitted bar! Far too trendy for me & for the Mill. Probably should have spent less on the 'design' - choose something modern but more classy - then something could also have been done to the restaurant which is sadly tired. Good food & play though.

This was our first visit after the refurb at The Mill, and it was great to be back there as we have always enjoyed our visits and thoroughly enjoyed Killjoy, the acting was excellent throughout its worth seeing. It was a shame for the actors that it was not full for the performance but the meal was really nice, with... More

We saw Killjoy, which was a thriller with a comedy/farce element, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The meal before was fine and I liked the self service, so you could take the quantity you wanted or have a small taster of more than one dish. Only negative is that the bar was quite expensive and my interval V&T was left on... More

The play was very good, thoroughly enjoyable and well acted with a nice twist to the ending. We have visited the Mill on many occasions mainly to see murder mysterys and have enjoyed every time. The mill was in a state of refurbishment when we visited this time in the bar area and yes it still needs some work but... More

I was very disappointed with the new system of total self service where before you had the meat served to you. The food servery was half the size because of this. The pork crackling had all been taken by others on the roast pork dish so I opted for the steak pie and there was not much content under the... More

Cannot praise this venue enough. We arrived a little late due to traffic but were directed to the restaurant politely. The main course is buffet style but a good choice of dishes and vegetables were available. We were taken to our table and drinks were quickly organised. Our desserts and coffee were served promptly, but not rushed. After which we... More
