Set majestically on the banks of the River Thames, The Mill at Sonning...

Set majestically on the banks of the River Thames, The Mill at Sonning promises a unique experience not to be missed where your visit includes both dinner and a show all under one roof in a beautiful converted water mill.

Start your visit with a drink (or two...) in the Water Wheel Bar or, if you visit us in the summer, take a sunny seat outside on the Mill Stream Terrace. From the bar you will make your way upstairs to our restaurant, with views out over the mill stream, where you will find your tickets and programme waiting on your table. The main course is served in buffet style but our friendly staff will be on hand to take your drinks and dessert orders. After enjoying our mouth-watering menu, prepared daily in our kitchens using only the best locally sourced ingredients, you can make your way into the main event of your visit - the theatre!

The Mill Theatre itself is an intimate venue, seating just over 200 people, air conditioned with spacious and comfy seats that won't leave you longing for legroom or calling for a cushion. During the year we produce a wide variety of plays in the theatre, ranging from comedies to thrillers, as well as hosting regular music and comedy nights that will have you dancing and rolling in the aisles.

Whatever your tastes, in both theatre and food, you will be sure to find something to whet your appetite here at The Mill.

Absolutely fantastic show very funny, brilliant actors. Dinner was included in ticket prices. It was a buffet style dinner which wasn't too bad. Really good evening.

The Mill provides a marvellous evening out. As the name suggests the building is an old mill. Inside there are numerous nooks, crannies and passage ways to make a tour interesting in its own right. The bar with water wheel is an attraction if not quite completely refurbished. We were able to have a relaxing drink prior to heading for... More

The refurbished bar still looks unfinished with it's odd dust sheets hanging around the walls - maybe some new pictures or canvasses would add interest & brighten up the place. Food was lovely - salmon, steak pie, pork casserole or veg curry followed by chocolate brownies, lemon mousse, bread & butter pud or cheeses & biscuits. The play was also... More

I didn't realise this place was on Tripadvisor and it was quite interesting to read some of the reviews. I felt I had to leave my feedback. We have been coming here for around 6 years now and thoroughly love the place and all it offers. Where can you go for £52.50 per person and have a perfectly acceptable meal,... More

The Mill has staged a number of great tribute nights and the most recent with 'Big Girls Don't Cry' was no exception. The Mill is undergoing refurbishment and the bar area is much improved albeit not quite finished. The meal was excellent and I never cease to be amazed at how the staff manage to serve a full house in... More

School dinners with charades was how we were sold the Mill - nothing fancy, a buffet dinner and a play. OK we thought, let's give it a try. Oh boy what a surprise! Yeah, ok, the car park could do with an extension and more disabled places, but we found a space. The entrance was well lit and the welcome... More

Went to see loves lost and what I wore, although the actresses were excellent, the content and overall production was very disjointed and boring. The food was o.k. Could still be hotter and less choice in vegetables than used to be. As for the decor in the main bar, well, I thought they were still painting as what looks like... More

The Mill could do with thinking the whole experience through. The presentation of the food baffled me. Salad, Cous-Cous, then Steak & Ale Pie. Salmon, Potatoes, Vegetables, gravy, then more salad at far end of buffet. Why not separate them so people could choose, between the two, it would have made self serving more simpler as people kept going back... More
