Description: Set majestically on the banks of the River Thames, The Mill at Sonning...
Set majestically on the banks of the River Thames, The Mill at Sonning promises a unique experience not to be missed where your visit includes both dinner and a show all under one roof in a beautiful converted water mill. Start your visit with a drink (or two...) in the Water Wheel Bar or, if you visit us in the summer, take a sunny seat outside on the Mill Stream Terrace. From the bar you will make your way upstairs to our restaurant, with views out over the mill stream, where you will find your tickets and programme waiting on your table. The main course is served in buffet style but our friendly staff will be on hand to take your drinks and dessert orders. After enjoying our mouth-watering menu, prepared daily in our kitchens using only the best locally sourced ingredients, you can make your way into the main event of your visit - the theatre! The Mill Theatre itself is an intimate venue, seating just over 200 people, air conditioned with spacious and comfy seats that won't leave you longing for legroom or calling for a cushion. During the year we produce a wide variety of plays in the theatre, ranging from comedies to thrillers, as well as hosting regular music and comedy nights that will have you dancing and rolling in the aisles. Whatever your tastes, in both theatre and food, you will be sure to find something to whet your appetite here at The Mill.

Last night we went to the to listen to Glyn Kerslake and Elaine Glover sing in the Waterwheel bar. Oh Boy! What wonderful singers they are. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing evening with bar snacks, wine and a coffee. Well done to the Mill for securing such highly respected entertainers for us to enjoy. We’re going again next Tuesday.

Excellent value for money as you get good quality food and a very cosy theatre with excellent acting. Highly recommended and a visit will also allow you to take a peak at George Clooney's house!

We saw the Fortunes present their Past and Present Show. Excellent show had seen it before. The Mill is a theatre diner located at Sonning Eye, an island in the Thames. Two course meal, main course serve yourself buffet style, dessert brought to the table. Both quality of food and service were excellent and we will certainly go again when any... More

What a find! This intimate theatre is just wonderful. We went to see The Fortunes and they were just brilliant. No 'airs and graces', just really nice 'down-to-earth' guys who seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. Even sitting in the third row, we felt like part of the act! Good food, well presented and very friendly, helpful staff.... More

Really enjoyable, food is ok, but more than made up for by the bar and the quality of the play, we had no idea the actors would be household names. Seats in front row were fun, our feet were on the stage! Recommended.

An enjoyable evening out for a friends 50th Birthday. Polite, cheery & helpful staff (especially the 2 ladies in the box office who helped me out several times!). Very well organised, allowing plenty of time to eat, drink and relax before moving into the theatre. All in all a very pleasant way to spend a summers evening.
