Had a great evening out with friends. Never heard of it before but was pleasantly surprised. Its unique in that the restaurant and theatre are all in the same building. The atmosphere was good and the staff very friendly. The play was excellent and being quite small you feel you are sitting amongst the actors. All in all had a... More

As 'regulars' at The Mill at Sonning, we clearly enjoy the experience! Tonight was no exception - "Confessions of a Scallywag" was, as billed, a farce.......plenty of laughs and some great character acting. Good to see some changes to the dinner menu - the current summer menu is very good - they have clearly taken heed of all the "school... More

Not in our neck of the woods but have been to the The Mill at Sonning twice now and a pleasant experience. A buffet style dinner is served prior to performance only one veggie dish though and l am not a veggie but plenty of choice for meat eaters. Desert is severed at your table as is coffee. The play... If reviewing the building then wonderful historic mill well preserved. Unfortunately the play, 'Confessions of a Scallywag' was so dire that we and friends with us considered leaving at the interval. Seen much better amateur productions. Overacted rubbish. The actors shouted their lines even though small theatre. Only gents toilet downstairs so my husband had to squeeze past dozens of... More

There's nowhere like this. A lovely converted mill, delicious food (served buffet style although I saw staff helping customers with walking sticks) and a very well acted comedy in a really nice intimate theatre. We'll definitely return.

Lunch and performance of Last Confessions of a Scallywag. We were impressed by the buffet and play by Dwina Murphy-Gibb which was extremely funny. The cast was excellent. One comment was "I haven't laughed so much in ages. Well worth a visit to this intimate theatre.

We have been there a few times. Overall the venue is good, food and service up to a good standard. Check the seating plan before making your reservation, it is important where you are sitting. Generally not having to go to London for the theater is a great idea. They have a lot fo choice and variety in the offerings... More

We have been here many times over the years and it always is a nice evening out. The food and the show (s) are always good. When booking a seat, be sure to view their theatre seating plan, as you could end up with a seat at the side and you will only see the side or back of the... More

This was the first time we had visited The Mill at Sonning, but we will certainly be back. We were on a coach trip from South London (Skinners) and the journey was quick and pleasant, passing through the very pretty Henley-on-Thames. We had a drink in the characterful bar (sitting next to the turning mill wheel) and then a very... More
