You can visit the follies and have a long walk in the outer area,or pay extra to see the formal gardens. This was my first visit since the rebuilding of the conservatory.I feel that the conservatory is very much underused. The conservatory has been restored to a good standard but it would be better if it had more colour added by... If you like nice gardens and peace and quiet this is the place for you. Dont be mislead by the word "castle" as theres not much of one there but, its lovely to walk around. The views are great and lots of little corners and backpaths that you can sit and be on your own away from everyone one else.... More

It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the Gardens (we especially like it when people find them romantic!) Wentworth Castle (the confusingly named mansion) can be visited as part of a pre-booked tour - these take place regularly throughout the year and are advertised on our website. More

This place is such a delight to walk around, enjoy the deer park, take in the views. Nice little cafe with friendly staff and reasonable priced, nice food and coffee.

Primarily we went to see the restored conservatory, as we have seen it in the derelict state several times. We were underwhelmed by the scale of the building and the planting is far from exotic. The rest of the garden is as nice as always. There seems to be a few more staff at work, so the gardens look a... More

Sorry to hear the Conservatory didn't have the wow factor for you, but hope you can come back in a couple of years when the planting is more established. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the rest of the Gardens and that you noticed the extra effort we have been putting into the weeding this year! More

This is another of those places that is close by but we had never visited and now, having been, I think it won't be too long before we go back, it's beautiful. Parking is easy; the staff were really friendly and helpful in both the shop and the cafe; it seems to swallow people - we knew we weren't the... More

Brilliant to learn that we have made another convert! We do hope you can visit us again soon - the Gardens have a different character in each season, but are always tranquil and elegant even when not in flower. There is much to explore in the Parkland too, with miles of trails and monuments to be discovered. More

Admission cost £11 for two concession tickets. They also offer a discount for members of the National Trust, which I believe is half the usual price. If you choose to be admitted to the grounds, they give you a 'free' token for the car park. Otherwise, you have to pay £3 for the token to get out at the exit... More

Rainy day but still worth the effort to visit. Timing is everything as currently May/June Rhododendron and Azalea's are flowering in all their glory and colours. The gardens are well laid out and suitable for children as well as adults with information boards all around the gardens.

We got married here! What more can i say?!.. It has beautiful grounds and scenery, cafe and park for the kids. There is a college on site with creche facilities. Just stunning, through and through. The gardens are amazing and a new conservatory.

The drive up to the castle (also known locally as Northern College) is beautiful. The scenery is second to none and as soon as you exit the car you feel at peace. The building is grade 1 listed and is magnificent. The gardens and views are breath-taking and leaves you with a sense of tranquillity. There is a children's area,... More

A sunny day wandering these stunning gardens I have never seen so many colors of rhodeden s . A great place to take the family with lots of space for picnics and games. Entrance was £6.50 and included parking. Well worth a visit.

The spring colours are mindblowing, summer is green and serene and autumn colour is soft and warm - even winter has its charms particularly on frosty days. We're glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you can come again some time. More
