Meat off, bone in the diced chicken, meat smells funny. Beef sirloin shrinks to half the size. Skin on sausages tough. Would not visit again. Best meat is asda or yr local butchers

We travelled 50 miles to visit and had a marvellous day out. The market was buzzing with loads of interesting stalls: lots to buy and lots to look at too. Cheese stalls, pies and black puddings all deserve special mention, also meat and fish. Too much to choose! There was a good choice of places to pause for a coffee... More

Everytime we visit family in Bury, we always come here and stock up on fresh meat and fish. Being a Southerner our prices can be astronomical so it's a treat to get so much more excellent quality produce for our money. We get our sausages from a stall outside of the fish & meat market, the one that offers free... More

Not been for a few years and it was fantastic compared to Bolton. Old fashioned plate pies hotpots Apple and winberry tarts all took me back to when people baked! The fruit veg fish and meat stalls are well stocked and clean. If we had this on the doorstep there would be no more supermarkets for me with their bland... More

Its a long time since I've seen a market so busy, reminds me what almost every towns market used to be like, whatever their successful formula is they should pass the secret on to other dying and dead towns, Councillors take note, what helps is the linking of the outdoor and indoor markets plus the close proximity to the town... I had heard a lot about the Market, both on Radio and TV so thought it was about time I went to check it out. Went from Lime Stret station to Mancheter Victoria then on to Metro which dropped me right outside market. Markets as much bigger than I expected with a huge range of stalls, both food and goods.... You can get almost anything you want at this giant market. The indoor stalls especially the butchers rival any other markets in range and price. The outdoor markets are always interesting. Just wished we lived nearer.
