The Light is an 8 screen cinema with state of the art digital picture and sound auditorium. This is not just a cinema, but a social hub for locals and visitors. Upon entering The Light you will be welcomed into a spacious café bar where you can have a drink and a light bite before or after the film. Enjoy a refreshing beer or a delicious coffee and choose from a selection of sandwiches and sweet treats. Specially created, movie themed artwork provides the backdrop for this café where you can sit and discuss the films. As an extra special touch, all screens are licensed, so you are free to take your refreshments into the screen to enjoy with your movie.

Can't rate this place highly enough. Not just the reasonable prices, it's also the friendly and knowledgeable staff and the outrageously comfy seats. Plus, Wallasey has never had so many screens in one of its cinemas before. Add to this the fact that they also cater for theatre and live music lovers by regularly screening live concerts, operas, ballets, Shakespeare... More

We called in on a Saturday afternoon and it was good to see it very busy. The queue moved quickly and we had hood seats. The seats themselves are very comfortable and the heating was good. First class.

I went to see American Sniper. I'd read the book and wanted to see how the film compared with it as well as other offerings from Clint Eastwood. I thought the film was a very good study of men at war and explored it's effect on close relationships, but as this is about the cinema, most of my review will... More

The light is an independent cinema with all the facilities of the multiple chains. Tickets are generally 25% less than Vue and the range of films tends to be broader. 3D is the same price as the 2D version and there is no fee for booking online. The usual noisy junk food is sold in the reception but there is... More

Shame about the film! Nice cinema, friendly staff, easy parking in Morrisons carpark. Near to New Brighton train station.

So you can book tickets, but not seats on a Wednesday, except when we got there, most of the cinema was reserved, for a private booking, so a pleasant family afternoon turned into us all being split up with staff being unhelpful to the point of rudeness. To add a cherry on top, you can buy your tickets online to... More

Excellent cinema experience, staff pleasant and efficient. Went to see The Hobbit in 3D which was brilliant. There's plenty of free parking nearby and plenty of places to eat nearby so is perfectly located. Seating very comfortable and good decor. Would recommend
