Not usually a museum person but have to say I enjoyed the tour and was impressed by the activities for children and the genuinely interesting exhibits and displays. There are some seats here and there so that you can have a rest and admire some of the stunning objects or study the layouts

One of the best museums in the UK specializing in archaeological finds. Exhibits range from the new stone age through the Roman occupation. In addition to Neolithic implements the museum houses a priceless array of Bronze Age weapons, pottery and ornaments, Iron Age brooches and other objects. Of course, Empress Matilda's "reign" in Devizes during the Anarchy vs Stephen is... More

The museum is a small but well presented one that gives the visitor a good, quick over view of Wiltshire history from Neolithic through to the present day. It also offers a well equipped reading and research room that would be a treasure trove for a researcher.

Very good Museum, some very unusual items and brilliant section on Stonehenge, if you visit on a Thursday entry is free. This is one of the best Museums in the area.. Very good little git shop too. Highly recommend and well worth a visit if in the area,

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately entry is not free on Thursdays. We are an independant charity, not run by the local council, and so we charge for admission in the same way as a cinema or theatre charges. We hope that we offer good value for money - certainly this is what our TripAdvisor reviews suggest! More

Paid a long overdue visit to our Museum. What a delightful trip we had. The museum are trying really hard to encourage children to visit and have many things to help them better understand the way of life people experienced in the past. Such a lot to see. Great shame they do not have large enough premises to do lunch... More

The new displays are clear and thought provoking. The prehistoric galleries are an absolute must to understand stonehenge, with many of the genuine artefacts found from archaeological investigation of the whole stonehenge complex. Well worth a visit.
