Very good Museum, some very unusual items and brilliant section on Stonehenge, if you visit on a Thursday entry is free. This is one of the best Museums in the area.. Very good little git shop too. Highly recommend and well worth a visit if in the area,

Paid a long overdue visit to our Museum. What a delightful trip we had. The museum are trying really hard to encourage children to visit and have many things to help them better understand the way of life people experienced in the past. Such a lot to see. Great shame they do not have large enough premises to do lunch... More

The museum is well arranged in rooms devoted to different periods offering much for children as well as the more serious visitor. Nice and quiet when I visited!

The new displays are clear and thought provoking. The prehistoric galleries are an absolute must to understand stonehenge, with many of the genuine artefacts found from archaeological investigation of the whole stonehenge complex. Well worth a visit.

Compact, easy to get around & excellent presentation. For the first time I now understand the difference between the various epochs from Neanderthal to Middle Ages, & I especially loved the range of artefacts through the periods. Great value!

A well set our museum giving the history of the area from the neolithic to the middle ages. Involves a bit of stair climbing and a series of small rooms

This museum is one of those 'hidden gems' that the UK used to be famous for. A county curio-cabinet that has been masterfully organized, this museum is more informative, and definitely better for the family than *ahem... certain regional attractions. Though the museum is still a work in progress, I would definitely recommend a visit, not least because it houses... More

Perhaps I was just too tired after my my canal stroll but I did not get as much out of this visit as I'd hoped. Some interesting displays though, of the finds and what they looked like in situ. Also lots of touch, stamp, build child friendly exhibits.
