Like all of the other reviews, do not be fooled by the small exterior to this building, there is a world of history within. It covers a comprehensive history of stonehenge, Avebury etc through to more recent times in Devizes - well and truly worth a visit!

Great little museum in Devizes - just on the street and no parking but found some on the street. Good admission price and they had some amazing pieces from Stonehenge and other dig sites...worth it!

Well worth a visit. Looks small from the outside, but large inside. Amazing gold collection from Stonehenge.

Fantastic little gem. Much more here than you would expect from the outside and well worth putting a couple of hours aside to appreciate the very well laid out museum. Full of very interesting, well presented displays.

This little museum packs a big punch in a small space. It illustrates 500,000 years of prehistory and history of Wiltshire, and includes displays as diverse as woolly rhinoceros fossils, Roman jewelry and tools, and Neolithic construction and burials. In addition, it houses an important archive, whose staff are friendly and eager to help researchers. This museum enhanced my appreciation... More

The museum is still in the process of being refurbished, with a sometimes odd mix of older and newly decorated rooms, but the collections are fascinating, the rooms are quirky and the display is sure to improve even more as refurbishment moves along. Definitely worth a visit, especially in conjunction with a trip to Stonehenge.

I loved the brief history of Wiltshire County and the significant history of Devizes. well laid out, enjoyable attractions, fun history. well worth a visit, it is also updated periodically and quite current. the museum has contributed items to Stonehenge and has gotten some artifacts from that site as well. all part of Wiltshire County.

I was extremely impressed by the Wiltshire Museum's new ground floor gallery of Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeology. Good use is made of the space available, the exhibits are very visually engaging, and the interpretation provides academic detail without being intellectually inaccessible. There are some incredible artefacts on display, including the iconic items from the Bush Barrow burial: a large... More

The curator introduced the museum as the best bronze age collection in the country. He's not exaggerating. If you're in the stonehenge/avebury area, go see some of the beautiful and fascinating finds. And the other periods are well represented too though they have yet to be updated as the bronze age gallery has.
