From the outside you will never believe how much is inside this museum. A great way to lose a few hours of your life. The displays are well laid out and informative. Apologies for not noticing whether there was wheelchair access and a buggy park.

Fascinating museum, well laid out and split into different eras which makes it easy to follow. Some of the artefacts are amazing for example there is a large pot which has been recreated from many small pieces, its incredible that they have all the pieces and that they can fit them back together!! Some fascinating Roman jewellery which is in... More

A very well presented museum with some fascinating artifacts and some really helpful study on Stonehenge, Avebury and the other neolithic monuments the county is famed for. Brilliant section on the Romans and Anglo saxons as well and an astonishingly complete collection of Iron age material.

After not being able to visit Stonehenge, we decided to go into Devises, and found the Museum. All indoors, and we'll laid out through the ages. With some interesting artifacts and information. It put a lot into perspective about the area. Well worth the find.

I spent a wonderful afternoon in the museum in Devizes. Following the finds through the Ages was helpful. The tiny copper, gold and green-stone axe burial piece was a highlight for me.

A wonderful treasure of a museum displaying the most important and amazing collection of Early Bronze Age artefacts in the country. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the new prehistoric galleries are a marvel, with so much to see and do for kids and adults alike. Honestly, one of the best local museums I've visited. There's even a lovely little... More

Not usually a museum person but have to say I enjoyed the tour and was impressed by the activities for children and the genuinely interesting exhibits and displays. There are some seats here and there so that you can have a rest and admire some of the stunning objects or study the layouts

When we visited at lunchtime Sunday it was very quiet. Everywhere was clean and tidy with the look of recently refurbished. Some very interesting exhibits

One of the best museums in the UK specializing in archaeological finds. Exhibits range from the new stone age through the Roman occupation. In addition to Neolithic implements the museum houses a priceless array of Bronze Age weapons, pottery and ornaments, Iron Age brooches and other objects. Of course, Empress Matilda's "reign" in Devizes during the Anarchy vs Stephen is... More
