Coming from oversees, there is hardly a better place to get a feel for what could easily be the most beautiful village in England. It is very smallm has no explicit attraction other than its still beauty and calm. What was done very cleverly, is that there are hardly any cars in the streets, adding to the visual experience.

Famous a being the location for the filming of Doctor Doolittle and other films. Nearby is the motor racing circuit, Manor Hotel and golf course. Some lovely pubs can also be found in the surrounding villages. Handy for Chippenham, Bath and Bristol

We had always heard of Castle Combe and its reputation for being one of the most picturesque villages in England, but until recently hadn't seen it for ourselves. We're so glad we did! Just to stoll through the village, visit the church and cemetery, and have tea in the local pub...a perfect afternoon!

Pretty village, but after a long walk down the hill with chilldren there are just a couple of expensive gift shops and a pub. would have been nice to buy an ice-cream, nice but i have been to other villages with a little more to offer a family on a day out
