I last swam in Ilkley Lido in 1965, so many years later it is as pleasant now as it was then! Great fun!
Good facilities, beautiful area for sunbathing but the water was absolutely freezing. It was advertised as heated. fantastic pools and slide but just too bone achingly cold.
English lidos have got to be one of the many wonderful things about our country. Even though the weather is so unreliable, they were built so that we can enjoy outdoor swimming, being outside, and taking time out with family and friends. on top of that, because they (mostly) built at the same time, they share early 20th-century characteristics that... It's really easy to find, there's plenty of free parking and really reasonably priced, given you can stay there all day if you like. We arrived at 10.15 and had no trouble finding somewhere to sit, as we had arrived early. The grounds are... More
fab to go when it's hot and sunny, plenty of outside areas to picnic and sunbathe.A good cafe too. The kids will love it.

Pick a fine day, take a picnic, pack your bathing clothes and have a wonderful day at Ilkley Lido. The Lido is in a fabulous setting near the river Wharfe and with good views of Ilkley Moor. The pool is big but be warned it is un-heated...very bracing! Plenty of space surrounding the pool to sit and play. All in all... More

Went with hubby and daughter and admission was £13 something which for a full days use of outside pool was actually pretty reasonable. Inside pool was closed on day we visited so can't comment...
