Description: If surfing is on your bucket list, enjoy a full day of thorough, A to Z...
If surfing is on your bucket list, enjoy a full day of thorough, A to Z surf instruction from local Ex-Pat Cory Dwyer of Sol Surfing San Juan. If you are already an advanced surfer and want to find some of those secluded, un-crowded, accelerated waves that you have been hearing and reading about in Nicaragua, Cory has been surfing in Nicaragua for 5 years steady now and knows all of the hidden little nooks and crannies along the coastline.Your day of lessons will start with a beautiful 20 minute drive South down the coast to one of the most stunning surfing beaches in the world, Playa Hermosa, in Cory’s 4x4 Land Cruiser, getting to know each other, sharing travel experiences and getting to know a bit about the Nicaraguan history and culture. Once on the beach, you will spend about an hour under a shade tree, looking out to the Pacific, watching the waves roll in as Cory explains the concepts of tides & currents, wave formation, safety, surfing etiquette, the mechanics of how to stand up on your surf board, and then, how to actually surf once you are up on your feet.

Cory makes surfing fun, and teaches you more than just throwing yourself into the waves. If you've never touched a board or you're looking to improve your skills, Cory has you covered.

My boyfriend and I went out for a day of surfing with Cory and his buddy Kyle. Cory is an incredible teacher with a wonderful approach to teaching beginners. Before getting in the water, he taught us about reading the waves and some basic surfing rules - critical for newbies. After he laid down the basics, he got us in... More

Make sure ask for slippery teets shots designed by darling friends and you must swing by on Tuesday by 6:30 to grab a seat for Trivia Night) There is a surprise for the winners,... More

San Juan Del Sur is a nice peaceful beach with many restaurants along the beach. The sand is dark and soft. It even sparkles at night when you play with the sand with your foot!! The people are nice and warm and make you feel very welcome. I really enjoyed my visit there as I felt very relaxed and safe!
