Great for the evening stroll and sunset. Cold beer and ice cream available. The southern end has some nice benches on the board walk.

Course sand beach in the Harbor. The surf was high and the stirred up sand was rough on the skin. It is right in the town and had a good crowd even on an overcast day. Quit scenic and close to everything.

Best to ask to Hostel Casa Amarilla to drive you to a private beach. The hostel has a trip of 5 beach virgin to discover in half day.

This beach is nothing special- just a nice place to cool off and have drinks in the evening at the beachside restaurants. I was warned: don't walk the beach at night unless you feel like getting robbed.

The beach in San Juan Del Sur looks nice and is good for a walk along the shorelines. But the best place is about 5 miles north where Playa Marsella, Maderas, and Majuagal dominate the surfing, swimming, and diving scene. Lots of small hotelitos and restaurants. No shortage of places to buy beer and food. Buss and taxis will get... More

What I can't figure out is, there may have been 5 people total on the entire beach on an absolutely gorgeous day. The water was perfect and the beach looked like a manicured sand trap on a high end golf course. Hopefully this review doesn't spoil this little secret!

Loved the kids playing, laid back enchanting feel. Felt welcomed in this piece of Nica paradise. Great for a walk, sunset take-in, close to town. Fantastic town with 'home' feel straight away:)

I heard, San Juan del Sur Beach is the Miami Beach of Nicaragua, and they are right. The view is super gorgeous especially their sunsets, very colorful. The town is quite crowded but not overcrowded which actually something I prefer. Parties everywhere, lots of bars to choose from and did I said, everything is cheap.

The view is gorgeous, especially at sunset. However, if one more person asks me to buy fake RayBans, weed, or a hammock I'm going to freak out. I don't mean to sound hateful, everyone has to stay on their grind... I get it. It's just that when the same 6 people come ask you to buy the same thing 10... More

Beaches get crowded with buses, local people insult you or worst rob you. drunks walk the streets and beach. garbage all over. people defecate on beach or the water, so be careful what comes floating your way. No bathrooms anywhere. Electricity goes out, so your room is hot as a sauna, and if you are lucky, the water does not... More
