This is the place to go Nicaragua for nightlife and food. The beach is full of many hopping bars. The food is good, but a little more costly than other places in Nicaragua (350 cords for a shrimp meal). I traveled with another female and we felt very safe despite many of the things that we had read. A girl... More

The beach is lined with obligatory restaurants, some shack styled some more refined. The serve everything for ceviche to full courses or simple finger foods. Most are Americanized. The beach is flat with high and low tides that are quite varying . There is a Jesus statue on the hill a bit reminiscent of rio de janeiro's. A new port... More

The minute you enter the water you feel like you can walk forever. This beach is normally where surfers go but for the past few months the waves have been very calm which is a plus for beach lovers. The water is quite shallow for a bit and the temperature was perfect that I didn't want to get out. It... More

Does not get a good press - but 90F in low season (July ), more or less empty & with lots of opportunities to buy cold one dollar beers. Pretty close to heaven if you ask me. The dive bombing pelicans are an added bonus - also the skilled locals pulling in huge fish from the shallows on hand lines.... More

Every afternoon, people stopped and waited on the beach for the sunset. It was like the entire community paused and enjoyed a moment together.

Quiet beach with good views. Most people go to other beaches like Madares, Hermosa etc. Not recommended at night time.
