We had 2 days with Wendy and Echo. They were very welcoming, very organised and will take you off the beaten track! It is like visitng friends in Xishuangbanna, they look after you...take you to interesting places..and can answer any question you can think of. We visited a tea forest, had local food, went to a tea factory, a local... More

Many travelers lament about the lack of interesting activities and sights to visit in Xishuangbanna on Tripadvisor. That's a shame because the border town is one of the more interesting Chinese cities we've visited. You just need to know where to look. With Echo (a Hongkonger who speaks perfect English) and Wendy (a Xishuangbanna local), we got to make our... More

Like another of the reviewers, I avoid tours and travel independently. But this is not a tour--it's like traveling with two old friends into areas of Xishuangbanna that you would never see on your own. Wendy, who grew up in Xishuangbanna, knows every village (and most of the people) and speaks Chinese and most of the local dialects. Echo, a... More

I'm not a tour person, I loathe the buses, the flags to follow, the horrible food, the contrived humor and the tight schedule. Good thing Bannaview doesn't do any of that. These are personalized small tours that are pretty darned affordable considering you get two humorous odd couple guides who know everyone in Xishuangbanna, a van to take you (Wendy... More

My friend and I spent three magical days with Wendy and Echo during the annual Water Splashing Festival. Those three days are a top highlight of mine after 7 months of travel - it was a "splurge" according to my budget and I would spend the $ over and over again. I'm convinced that they know everyone in the entire... More

Wendy and Echo offer trips to ethnic villages, homestays and a great insight into local cultures. Wendy is the one with the local knowledge and the great driving skills. Echo is the guide and interpretor. Both are 'people' persons - great at getting a conversation started, getting into people's homes, and 'cajoling' people (in the nicest possible way) into revealing... More
