The zoo is just OK. Its nothing special, but the price is high. When we went all the animals were out, it smelt like a typical zoo (in the summer), and I just feel there is so much more you could be doing with your money and time in Hershey.

If you live near Hershey as I do it was a great place to take my kids to for creatures of the night in the fall. Fun and yes a learning experience. When my boys were growing up our Hershey Park Season passes got us in for free. It was something we could do at any time and the conversations... More

The zoo is just OK if you live near a big city zoo. It has a few interesting animals, and it is small enough for young kids to get around on foot.

Its ok. It's free with the park admission. I know a lot of the other states don't have great zoos, so I guess this one is average. I think it can be separate from the park as well. I live near NYC and grew up there. We have a lot of great zoos. So I am spoiled. The Bronx Zoo... More

However do not be off put by this as ZooAmerica is still a nice regional zoo that is great for families to enjoy while staying in Hershey. while on the small side (11 Acres) it has much to see and all of... What a delight to see a cub close up and personal. His interaction with the keepers, playing with stuffed toys and hissing at the train nearby was priceless. I can't wait to watch him grow up.

I love cats and raptors and this park has plenty. The only downside is that it is on "rolling terrain" which made walking tougher on my handicapped spouse. don't let that stop you.

It had been a few years since we visited this zoo and we are very happy to have visited again. Wonderful collection of North American animals and an attentive staff. We saw the bear hibernating (January) and animals in "winter" mode. Very different than a summer visit.
