Truly excellent. Must stop by in the Poconos

Ok, I am going to be honest here. I grew up in the south and am used to southern hospitality. In the Poconos, I did not get that vibe... except for here. Everyone was great. I am not sure if it was the owners, or employees, but they love what they do, and explain things, and are excited about it.... More

This shop is located down a long wooded road in the Pocono Mountains. You'd never expect to find a shop where this one is. We take my nephew there, and he loves watching candles being made, and saying hello to the ponies, goats and variety of birds behind the building. Though, there's 3 stories, with stairs, so it may not... More

What an amazing place! The staff made our entire family feel very welcome. We watched Joel create works of art. Calling what he created just a candle seems to be a disservice to his craft. He explained the entire process to our three young kids and answered every one of their questions. He is also the craftsman behind the bear... More

I go here every year with my mother, and every year we watch them make candles. It does not get old. We also visit the little farm outside. It is a really great place to visit, and we cannot wait to go back in a few months.

Great demonstrations showing how candles are carved. Makes you appreciate the art behind it. The gentlemen was very kind with my children and took the time to show them how its done. Candles are nice, but I did expect them to have a stronger scent. We ended up purchasing more than anticipated because they had a special sale. So far... More

Cute little candle shop with very cool candle-making demonstrations. The guys giving the demo were really nice and the candles are lovely. Nice selection of items, a little overpriced, but not unreasonable for a vacation area. It's a neat little place to visit.

Small, overpriced....not what I was expecting. A bit disappointed. We have wanted to go in there for years and finally stopped. Now I know.....will find another shop.

My boyfriend and I are vacationing in the Poconos and absolutely loved the House of Candles!! I was in my heaven because the prices were a great price and there were so many different smells! He even enjoyed himself because he got a cool hand-carved eagles candle! We will definitely go back if ever in the area again!
