I seen this place from the highway going to Hershey outlets, and decided to stop on the way back. I'm glad I did to my amazement I'd stumbled upon the Washington nationals AA team the Harrisburg Senators. Wanted to take pictures of them practicing and was allow to enter the stadium for free. The kids loved it especially the batting... More

I've been here several times and love it each time! I took off a half day of work on a Tues and picked up my niece and came to City island (her 1st time). It happened to be an afternoon when temps hit 90° so unfortunately the batting cages were closed until 5 pm because of the heat. So I... More

Nice area, lots of family people doing the same. There's a few little things that will keep young children happy like a little train.

When Baseball Season arrives..........City Island is the place to go to see a nice ball game with the Harrisburg Senators. You will see a ball game which doesn't cost you an arm and leg to get into. Concession food is reasonably price for a family outing. Forget the major leagues where you have to take out a loan for a... More

On City Island you can you watch a baseball game and fire works, take a train ride, ride the paddle boat, swim, and picnic all in one place. Nice area for families to spend a day. Plenty of parking and it is inexpensive. Best time to visit is in spring or summer. The Pride of the Susquehanna paddle boat cruise... More

We visited City Island in the Fall, so it was pretty much closed. We walked around on a nice sunny afternoon. Looked like there is plenty to do for families plus the Harrisburg Senators baseball team plays here. Swimming facilities (bath house), miniature golf & a train ride for children. You can walk to it across the foot bridge from... More

City Island is home of the Harrisburg Senators which is affiliated with the Washington Nationals. We went to see them for the 4th of July. The park was really amazing, I could tell there are lots of things to do there besides watch baseball. There is train that goes around the whole park. I would like to go back sometime... More

Excellent Grandparent outing with six and nine year old. The history of the river presentation by the captain prior to cruise held the older ones interest and we enjoyed too. Get there esrly so you don't miss. Appreciated optional indoor cool seating with lots of windows and the sodas were popular too.

We walked over the Walnut Street Walking Bridge, spanning the Susquehanna River which was fun. The island offers an outdoor eatery run by a woman with a warm and friendly personality. We took a nice walk and returned via the auto bridge which offers a nice walkway.
