This is a great asset to the city. There are sports facilities like batting cages, a soccer field, volleyball courts and mini golf. The arcade, train and carousel are occasionally running and sometimes there are vendors there. But it seems that it is only really used on summer weekends or when the senators are playing.

Biked along the Susquehanna with my boys (ages 8 and 10). Stopped at City Island for a snack and beverage. Everyone was central Pennsylvania friendly and prices were working family affordable.

The concrete "beach" is one of my favorite places to swim in the area. I swim upstream and then have a relaxing float downstream before using a different stroke upstream again. Due to budget cuts, there are no lifeguards this year and signs that tell you not to swim. As long as you are properly attired and not causing trouble,... More

I've always been fascinated with City Island just across the Susquehanna from Harrisburg, PA. What a great place to hang out, especially on a gorgeous day like my friend and I had. Come over the Market Street bridge right off of 2nd Street in Harrisburg. Easy to get to as well traveling on I-83. Just take the 2nd Street /... More

There is much to do on City Island. Great safe parking. About a mile loop where you can walk, take a train ride, carriage ride, play mini golf, playground for the kids, arcade and some small shops. And of course the Harrisburg Senators or City Islanders if they are in town!

Win or lose, this all team always provides a great family experience. Lots of fun things for the crowd. Food is typical ball park grub. Beer is available but pricey...hence almost no public drunkeness!

City Island is a very nice walk around an island in the Susquehanna River. It has one of the nicest mini golf courses I have ever played, really nice views an a challenging course. Great for families or dates. And yeah- there's the Senators baseball if you're into that, too. And boat rides, nostalgia, and food/refreshments.

City Island is a cool place, but the Senators games are our favorite. Minor league baseball has a very intimate, small town feel, and we had seats right behind home plate ($11). You feel right in the middle of the game and what a friendly crowd. You can reach city island either by car or, more interesting, walking across a... More

Recently went to a Senators game...lots of fun for the price. $10.00 for a ticket. Food prices a little less than a major league park and was par with them. Parking is a bargain at $3.00...but plan on arriving early for less traffic and a good place. Saw the usual between inning entertainment except...that night was Cowboy Monkeys...fun but weird!!!

Our waitress tipped us off to this place. We went and drove around (it's a little hard to get to - especially when a soccer game is going on, which it was). There is a cute train for kids to ride on and playground. We did the mini golf which was great and picturesque as it is right on the... More
