Drove the kids up from Maryland for the day on Spring Break. The tour is self guided and easy to get through. You get to see every step from the potatoes rolling off the trucks to bags being stuffed into boxes for immediate shipment. If you or your kids enjoy shows like "How Its Made" then this will be a... Factory Tour includes self-guided walkway above factory floor and recorded audio explanations. Enjoyable for all ages. Kids loved that workers would wave to them and that they received a free sample of chips. Nearby outlet store is worth a stop for unusual chip flavors and had a one-day week senior discount program. Check tour availability (typically weekdays). Very easy drive... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and being able to purchase a case of chips/pretzels of our favorites. The hot chips were delicious! Lots of fun! You will be there for a couple of hours! Highly recommend`

Wonderfully educational experience. If you ever wondered about how that potato became a great snack, this will tell you all about the process. Little video introduces you and product display is extensive. Watching the process from an elevated hallway above the machinery spares you from what must be a very noisy operation (most of the workers wear ear protection). Moving... More

If your looking for a fun and educational factory tour....this! And you get a small bag of chips at the end. You must be able to climb sets of stairs to view the factory tour from above. It is not Handi-cap friendly..no elevator. Worth the climb even with my bad knees. Window sections for viewing with push-button talks for each... More

Believe it or not my family and I will purchase Utz chips moving forward. Although we were separated by glass and couldn't see the whole factory, the kids really enjoyed the experience and we all walked away very satisfied with nice free activity on a cold winter day. I will note that depending on where you're coming from the drive... More

Great place to visit for out of town guests and their kids.Watching the process of turning the lowly potato to delicious chips via automation and hard working employees is truly amazing. As one of my teacher friends exclaimed after seeing the women monotonously bag the chips. "I'm glad I went to college and belong to a union!"

Fantastic place. Of course we love their products and had to visit the factory store while we were there. Good variety, some I had not seen before. And they do ship items!

Self guided tour that you have to do at least once to appreciate the sheer volume of potatoes and manufacturing that goes on here. Love the smell. Worth a trip with the kids. Get a free bag of chips too...
