Description: You can see and smell the making of the famous Utz Potato Chips and Snacks...
You can see and smell the making of the famous Utz Potato Chips and Snacks at our over 600,000 square foot facility in Hanover, Pennsylvania. There, we have built a special glass enclosed observation gallery that looks down on our production process from beginning to end. You will be guided step-by-step with the aid of a push-to-talk audio program and closed-circuit TV monitors. A wall display of Utz's history will enhance your understanding of the company and its products. From start to finish, you'll be impressed with the care we put into Utz Potato Chips. At Utz, we use the finest ingredients and the most advanced equipment. Our factory is one of the cleanest and most modern snack food operations in America. So my friend and I did a road trip to Hershey Park and stopped here at the factory for the tour. It's free and it was pretty fun. You get to see almost all of the production of the potato chips from washing to bagging. Plus it's free! We also did the Snyders Pretzel Factory which was only about 5... More

I was giddy like a school girl watching the potatoes go from the truck to a potato chip. Now I have to admit- I don't eat a lot of chips but it was so much fun watching the entire production line. I was grinning from ear to ear watching the potatoes move through the process. This tour is the real... More

This self guided tour lets you spend as much time at each station as you'd like and the information of what you are looking at through the glass is heard by pushing the button on the portion of the process you are at. They have chips to taste and each person is given a bag at the end of the... More

This is a self guided tour but very cool. It's amazing all the potatoes going through in just the time we were watching. Another must do when in the area.

The video at the beginning of "The Chip Trip" is very beneficial to understanding the history of potato chip production. Even though we were unable to actually be on the production floor, we were still able to see the potato chip making process from unloading the potatoes to final packaging and storage. The entire process from start to finish takes... More

Follow the chip making process step by step. Watch and wave to the workers. Easy for children to see the activity through windows with steps. At the end of the tour you get a treat.

Second time in 12 years. Nice quick tour. Great way to show kids where their chips come from! Employees on the floor waved and were very nice.

It was fun and it was so nice because of the staff. They really care and just want to make it fun. There is so much to choose from. Plan on seeing all that is possible with UTZ. Find out how it started and why it is one of America's favourites.

What a fun-filled learning experience! It was so much fun watching the actual process and actual workers make our favorite treat...and a free bag of chips at the end of the tour is not bad either!

We enjoyed the factory. The kids had a great time. The tour was short and self-guided. We learned a lot about the process. We watched a short history film before the tour began. The factories are huge. We received complimentary bags of chips before we left. The Utz store is great. It's a 5 min drive from the factory. They... More
