This was our first stop on a two week road trip. Stayed in the Pickerel Point area, in a tent, near the bathroom. The sites are cozy, and rather close to each other, however, comfortable enough. The bathrooms are clean, and modern. Free showers, and there are dish washing stations attached to the outside, which was a bonus for us.... More

This is one of the only state parks in Pennsylvania that has full hookups for RV's, and can easily handle big rigs. We camped here in a 37 foot motorhome with a towed vehicle. Some of the sites are more level than others. Most of the RV sites are good sized and can accomodate multiple slide outs. Rest rooms are... More

Beware to those with larger tents. The RV sites in Beechwood are not all compatible for tents. If you are in a tent, Northwoods and other sites are more suitable. We were barely able to fit an 8 person tent on our site (Beechwood) which was mostly pavement and other tent campers we met experienced a similar problem. Bathrooms are... More

We love camping in the Pines. Sure the bathrooms are really old, but from the Pines you have access to a lot of trails and local shops. Pickerel Point is very modern and has great views of the water, but the road in and out of there can get busy in the summer. Not bad, but we camp with young... More

We camp here every year at least twice a year. I spent my honeymoon 21 years ago here in one of the cabins. This is a wonderful unspoiled park. I love it here! My only complaint is other campers who don't follow the park rules and party all night while others are sleeping. Please remember when you are camping that... More

Expensive, everything is charged extra, and especially for out of state visitors, who get charged extra. But there are new comfort stations and nice level sites, a very well maintained campground. My one complaint: if you want a serviced site in Pickerel Point campground, not only do you have no choice but to camp in a pet-friendly zone, but you... More

We just came back from the Poconos area and this park had outstanding views. Even though the water was frozen and the weather was very very cold, the area is very clean and beautiful and calm. Nice to relax and get cozy. A bit lonely, but I guess it was due to the cold weather.

This was my second time visiting a state park in the US. It was a holiday weekend parking was limited but we were able to find a spot quickly. The park was clean and the bathrooms were clean too. There were plenty of picnic benches available. Boats and kayaks can be rented. Kids can play on the playground. There were... More

This was my first visit to a state park in Pennsylvania. If this one is typical, they have an excellent state park system! It was very clean and well kept with new bathrooms and newly paved areas. We stayed in what they call a "camper cabin" ($45/night)(also seemed new), which is a cabin that has heat and electricity, beds, and... More

We have camped at many state parks, in multiple states, and rank this at the very top. The facilities are well maintained, recreational opportunities abound, the hiking trails are abundant, scenic and well marked, there is a high level of security, and the park is both child-friendly and pet-friendly. We stayed in a cabin and, while the cabin is designated... More
