I have mixed feelings about zoos. I think they do great conservation work but I do hate to see animals in small cages. This zoo has quite a few different animals but some big cats, like the lions, tiger and jaguar were in very small areas. Several animals were not in exhibits. Not sure if we just hit the zoo... My spouse and I are past 60 years of age but this zoo brought out the hidden youth in both of us. We wondered the animal buildings and outdoor animal areas with much enthusiasm. I was very taken with the orangutans and could have spent many hours watching this family group. Photos can be taken with ease in many areas.... More

We went here and we got half off with our Pittsburgh zoo membership. The train ride was very cool. Things to do other than see animals were, train ride, carousel, playground, face painting, some indoor toy areas, food. You could hold a bird which was pretty cool. There's a lot to do. We spent 4 hours here, but could have... More

This zoo is great. The grounds are just beautiful. The animals are very healthy looking and are closer to you than the average zoo. The people who work there are so friendly. and go out of their way to make your visit a great one.

We were looking for a time filler and this zoo turned out to be a lot of fun. The animals were very active this day and so entertaining. Actually was larger than we were expecting. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Nice way to spend a couple of hours.

I will admit I am a zoo nut. I also have family in Omaha, so I have been to the Henry Doorly Zoo dozens of times. All zoos pale in comparison to that one, but I try to be balanced. Erie is not your big, urban zoo, but it is a family friendly attraction with some animals. I really thought... More
