Small but nice, if your looking for something to do and want to support the animals. Missing alot of animals.
By "all the basics," I mean that the Erie Zoo has all the basic animals you expect to see in a zoo with well designed habitats. The animals look well cared for. It's big enough, but you won't wear yourself and the kiddos out walking forever to see the exhibits. Food is available or take a picnic lunch for the... More
Living in Erie for 25 years, I have seen many improvements to our zoo. I am very proud of it. For a small city like Erie, this is a slam dunk zoo! I love the newer addition with the platform chimes kids can step on. I love the wart hogs, giraffes, bats, cheetahs, red panda, and of course - the TRAIN ride! Very fun, and just the right size to spend a half or full day.
My best friend brought her grandkids up for the second year in a row. They loved it so much last time they wanted to come back. Nice to wander as you please, tired out before we could see everything. We really enjoyed the zoo, they have a nice kids area and the monkey's are always a hit. We thought the walking was easy and the staff were friendly. We will be going back soon. Plent of parking and easy access from the highway.
Went there on a Saturday afternoon. lts a nice zoo for a small town. I was surprised to see all the different exhibits. They had everything from exotic to domestic animal. The place is bigger than it looks. If you are in the area check it out. You will have a nice time.
