My husband and I saw Beauty and the Beast while vacationing in the area. The theatre is very nice inside. Seats are comfortable. The auditorium has wood floors (except for the aisles which are carpeted). I've never seen that in a theatre before but it was a nice touch of class. Average price for a live performance. The cast did... More

We went to The State Theatre for The Piano Men this past weekend. As we were walking up the street, they had the marquee lit up with easily over a hundred lightbulbs and the act displayed, which is a nice touch that seems to be lost in the modern era. The theatre itself had this old-world charm to it, with... More

The seating is horrible. I guess if your short and skinny it would be perfect, but I am 5'3 and my knees were hitting the back of the seat in front of me. The good -- is the place is so nice on the inside and the staff very helpful in assisting you. Went to see Linda Eder and sat... More

I live a half hour away from the State Theater in NJ. This is my favorite venue to see a big name show. I've been a member for the past 10 years. This is a restored grand old theater with a good sound and lighting system. The lighting will vary, of course, for each show, depending on what the entertainer... More

The State Theatre does a great job of bringing in some big names. I went several years ago to see James Galway, one of the biggest names in classical flute. He was excellent but only played for 1/2 hour. The rest of the concert was taken up by a pleasant choir which was a fine performance but I paid my... More

Drove here from central Jersey to see Lewis Black last night. This is a nice venue with comfortable seats and an attractive exterior. The acoustics sound great. Would visit again if the right act came along. More
