We spent the entire day at the Brandywine River Museum and had a great time. The trips to the Kuerner Farm and NC Wyeth's house and studio were worth the extra cost, and added great context to the works on display in the museum. We arranged our visit so that we could take the tour given by Victoria Wyeth, granddaughter of Andrew Wyeth. For 30 minutes, she talked about the meaning behind several of his and Jamie's paintings. Just stayed at the hotel one night and was appalled at the service. The desk clerks in the evening and the morning were very rude. Very abrupt, not helpful. Playing solitare on computer while people were trying to check out. Rooms were small and the entire hotel smelled like sewage or methane! Afternoon Tea was a joke. Lipton tea bags... more

A small art museum, but the location is lovely and the collection is excellent. Work from the Wyeth family as well as local pieces. The work of N. C. Wyeth particularly stands out. Some excellent stuff here! Make sure to save some time to wander the grounds. more

The museum is a lovely renovation of an old mill, it is very tasteful and follows the bank of the Brandywine River.
