We have been there skiing many times. The slopes are always well maintained and the staff is excellent. They have a wide variety of runs, though most are on the shorter side. The resort is going through a major renovation/addition. I'm sure the end result will we great, but some growing pains right now. The parking lot isn't paved, so... More

Ski Liberty has a very experienced staff of ski and snowboard instructors. There is always plenty of staff on hand who are very helpful and patient. The resort is very nice with shuttle buses available for the parking lots, lots of security and helpful staff. The food and drinks are very expensive so bring your own. You can bring coolers... Went to Liberty for first time, pre-school daughter in tow, for skiing. Stayed for a weekend. Each day got better. The army of staff people to help sign up for lessons, rent equipment, teach and take care of our kid in the children's center were outstanding. Not a hitch. Little one learned to ski and liked it. So we're going... More

It's not a huge resort, but given that it's only an hour and 30 minutes or so from DC, it works perfectly for a day out. The slopes are really good for beginners. It can get a little dull for intermediates toward the end of the day. The lifts are not super fast, but they do keep the lines moving... More

Like any amusement area the prices are SKY high and the food of course is poor. Water is like $3.50 a bottle. You eat there out of convenience only. Even the hot chocolate was awful.THE HOT CHOCOLATE.! At a ski resort. I guess I could have gotten it from the Starbucks in the building. May cost $6 or something but... More

This was my second visit here and I feel that their ski classes are top notch. I have also skied at Keystone and in North Carolina. I bring my godsons here for the Battlefield and throw in skiiing for a fun distraction. They have a very nice beginners slope and everything up to 3 double black diamonds with moguls. No,... More

We went to this resort 2 days in a row.Their lifts stopped 3 times for a minimum of 10 min - 20 minutes! ! ( at different times within an hour or so ) . But since I had booked a hotel , I had to go the next day too. The next day, same issue. I asked to speak... More

Check it out. Liberty has the best instruction on the East coast and maybe in the country. For a small mountain they pack in a lot of terrain for all levels of skiing. I've skied the northeast and out west but for a local area I never tire of Liberty. The slope maintenance is some of the best anywhere. Get... More

Not a very good mountain. The runs are VERY short, and there is very little variety. They do have a little bit of ungroomed/mogul stuff on the back of the mountain, but the runs are so short that you will spend far more time on the lifts than you will skiing. (Note that ALL of the challenging stuff is located... More

Skiing is a special event for me. I learned to ski in Switzerland in the 1960's but now live in Virginia, so being able to take a snow day with only 1 and 1/2 hour drive is a real treat. I was delighted at how good the conditions were without a natural snowfall. The staff in the equipment rental area... More
