Lovely trail

Great place for a stroll or a bike ride. Close to major rodes but secluded once you get on to the trail.

This trail is fine, but it's a little choppy, meaning that it ends abruptly and it's sometimes difficult to find where it picks up again. I felt safe enough there, but my mother-in-law thinks it's too isolated to be safe. Maybe not recommended.

The tireless work of a core of volunteers has resulted in a wonderful trail. It is well maintained and groomed. Weeds are cut and trees are trimmed. If you ride far enough on it you will cross several trail-only bridges. I live within two miles of this gem and I still use it at least once a week for either... More

My daughter, son, and I have all experienced parts of the Montour Trail. We connect to the trail in the Bethel Park area and Peters Township area (there are historic signs on the Peters connection). The trail is either paved or hard packed gravel with some signage that will tell you the roads or areas you are going through and... More

My wife and I took three month old out to walk so we could get some exercise. We walked part of the trail and loved it so much we'll be investing in bikes when the little one grows up.

We biked the Montour Trail from Cecil to the beginning of the trail and back to Cecil, a total of 48 miles. It is a very scenic part of the trail, and very rural, considering its proximity to Pittsburgh. The MacDonald Trestle has just been opened and afforded a nice view of the countryside, as well as an easier passage.... More

If your looking for a trail to go for a run or just take a walk alone or couple this is the best. Look no further and it can take you to Robinson too.

approx 57 miles of <3% grade - surface is well maintained (volunteers do tremendous work) with sections in Peters Township - fully paved very few "missing" sections - courtesy to communicate and share the way often essential - although not really "crowded" something for everyone - take a section at the time - or push for a huge day. beware... The Montour trail has many entrances and exits. It it just an awesome trail for walk, run, or bike. There are restaurants and places to rent bikes along the way. The trail is maintained through out the year and folks even use cross country skis during the winter.

Biked Montour Bike Trail with the Toronto Bike Group on Sat, Aug 23, 2015. From McDonald to Route 19 which Trail closed for new biking bridge but you can go across road and pick Trail up again. Nice limestone trail and busy - nicely used by bikers, walkers and joggers. Nicely laid out Trail. Limestone dust wasn't too bad. Nice... More
