We biked the Montour Trail from Cecil to the beginning of the trail and back to Cecil, a total of 48 miles. It is a very scenic part of the trail, and very rural, considering its proximity to Pittsburgh. The MacDonald Trestle has just been opened and afforded a nice view of the countryside, as well as an easier passage.... More

If your looking for a trail to go for a run or just take a walk alone or couple this is the best. Look no further and it can take you to Robinson too.

approx 57 miles of <3% grade - surface is well maintained (volunteers do tremendous work) with sections in Peters Township - fully paved very few "missing" sections - courtesy to communicate and share the way often essential - although not really "crowded" something for everyone - take a section at the time - or push for a huge day. beware... The Montour trail has many entrances and exits. It it just an awesome trail for walk, run, or bike. There are restaurants and places to rent bikes along the way. The trail is maintained through out the year and folks even use cross country skis during the winter.

Biked Montour Bike Trail with the Toronto Bike Group on Sat, Aug 23, 2015. From McDonald to Route 19 which Trail closed for new biking bridge but you can go across road and pick Trail up again. Nice limestone trail and busy - nicely used by bikers, walkers and joggers. Nicely laid out Trail. Limestone dust wasn't too bad. Nice... More

Beautiful place to ride a bike, take a walk with the family, or enjoy a jog on your own. Year round this trail is available.

An amazing trail ...I ride between USC/Bethel to Peters Township. Clean, port a potties, scenic benches, clean and friendly people using it. Goes from rural to behind neighborhoods. Level and well kept.

The Montour Trail is testimony to dedicated local residents. They have put their ideas, physical labor and money into seeing this project a reality. Excellent place for the entire family. You will see babes in arms and in strollers. You will see Seniors out for a walk, bikes, and runners.

I get on at the Brush Run entrance, one way takes you towards Logan road which is all limestone and ends at logan road, good portion of trail though because heavily populated and many houses along the way, I feel safer when I am alone, I hit Logan at the end, then end back to car at Brush Run and... I like most sections of the trail. Once the bridge across Valley Brook is done, I will use that stretch more as the road crossing is dangerous there. Bridge near the golf course around mile 28 is very nice.
