Very inspiring, a lot of history, I did not dislike anything about this place. They could have a small restaurant which would be nice for travelers.

this free and you can see the crypt of Katherine herself as well as artifacts from her life. Also the beautiful old church and grounds with graves of Drexel family and nuns alike. Even a gift shop

WOW !! What a beautiful old church with the unique 'in choir' sides and the set up for celebrating the Mass. The actual Shrine and St. Katharine's tomb are located in the lower church under the main church. A great place to pray and meditate. They have a very nice gift shop. A definite stop for Catholics to see and... More

Every so often I like to take advantage of visiting and make a day pilgrimage to a local shrine of one our saints. Saint Katharine Drexel Mission Center/Shrine and holy grounds are a tranquil, serene jewel nestled in the hustle-bustle of the city and suburbs. If you want to clear your head, say a prayer or hear a prayer, then... More

Not sure why this place is listed. It houses sick and elderly nuns. Dont take me negatively, it is jusg that there is nothjng to see other than a small graveyard and church walls. It is in no-way a travel destination.

This is a good place to go to humble yourself and get in touch with the benefits of austerity, self sacrifice and introspection. The shrine is simple. The story of mother Drexel is told from her wealthy upbringing to her total revocation of all that to serve the poor "colored" and Indian people of her time. Her coffin is actually... More
