One of the cutest seaside getaways that you will ever see, couples will want to linger here. A dedicated path along the ocean front offers spectacular seascapes while thick fir forest covers sharply rising hills immediately inland. A handful of cafes and restaurants have a quiet, layback feel. Small inns and motels have a quiet retreat like atmosphere For first... More

The oceanside at Yachats is mostly huge rocks and they are somewhat dangerous to walk on because of sneaker waves and some slick moss. Not a negative, just a description!

A wonderful small village with many coastal attractions and nearly all are free. Sandy Beaches, Pretty Bridges, Exciting Rocky Churns, Waves Splashing and Water Spraying against the Rocks, Very nice River, and many pic nic areas (in particular just south of town along the river and ocean.

Route 101 along the coast is spectacular. Cliffs hundreds of feet high above the crashing waves and beautiful rock formations around every little cove. Tsunami warning signs are something we never expected, rangers told us it can happen with bad storms during high tide times.

We loved the pathway that goes all down the coast at Yachats. It is paved and very easy to navigate. Lots of folks strolling and walking dogs, just enjoying the crashing of the waves! Keep and eye on the "Sneaker Waves," we saw a few really big ones even though the weather was nice in Yachats.

The best thing about Yachats is how small the beach is. It's maybe 1/4 to 1/2 a mile long, at best. There's plenty of rocky areas for kids (and adults) to play around on as well. At high tide, check out the blow hole. So, if you're standing on the beach at Yachats, facing the ocean, turn left and start... More

From long sandy beaches to high rocky bluffs the central Oregon coast is a stunning place to see and visit. The drive from Yachats to Florence is amazingly beautiful. If you visit this area you will return.
