We’d wanted to visit the Oregon coast for years and finally had the opportunity. Now we can’t wait to go back. It is just extraordinarily beautiful. There are lots of motels more or less on the beach (including the Silver Surf just north of Yachats, and the Windermere on the Beach in Bandon, where we stayed), so the views are... More

We had no idea. We usually stay up the coast a bit more. We loved Yachats. The beach is long and fun to jog, the little sound is beautiful, the restaurants had excellent food, plus we saw whales in July!!!! The hiking opportunities are magnificent. This is a must!

Yachats is a lovely little town, however, a bit expensive to stay and dine. But there is something about the men. They seem to think being rude to women is okay. If you encounter men in restaurants, make sure you don't ask questions or complain about bad service; they will get abusive. I've had this happen to me on three... More

Breath taking views. A most see in your lifetime. Before booking a hotel, see it in person, as some use the term "Resort" when clearly not.

You can enjoy rocky coastline and sandy beaches within walking distance. Quaint lovely town, too. Must stop at Bread and Roses for breakfast or lunch.

This is the place to be. the rocky coasts gives way to miles of wide pure white sandy beaches, a couple of freshwater streams to ford. There is always the hope of spotting a whale.

I stayed in Yachats for 4 days. Every morning the tide comes in, along with sea life, shells etc. There are rocks to cliimb and relax on, and the town is so quaint. 30 min N or Florence and 30 min S of Newport. Perfection. In love with Yachats.

Yachats is special--in part because it is not as close to the large inland cities....so it is not as crowded. It has a variety of beaches--sandy and rocky. Great places to find agates. Clean. The coastal pathway along the top of the beaches is wonderfully accessible. Nice benches to sit on.

Ever changing environment, easily accessible, stunning no matter what time of day or year. A photographer's dream, a family's delight, a couple's paradise, and if you are flying solo a litle slice of heaven.
