Beautiful, powerful, amazing. We were lucky enough to see the whales. Plenty of places to sit and watch the ocean.

I recently drove the northern coast in Oregon and spent the night in this small coastal town. I was impressed with the fireworks; for a small town it was a great show! The next morning I walked along the coastline, admired the views, listened to the crashing waves and screaming sea gulls. Quite a few people had camped out in... More

The coast around Yachats has something for everyone. At low tide the beach just south of the Yachats River is exposed and there are tide-pools galore at the south end of the beach. On the north side of the river there is a walking trail from Yachats State Park to the wide beach at the north end of town. From... More

Loud, misty, wild, and wavy. This is not a San Diego or Florida beach, my friends. This is more like Northern Scotland or Maine. And I loved it for that.

The entire Oregon coast is spectacular, but Yachats may be my favorite place to stay. There's easy access to the 804 coastal hiking path (especially if you stay in an ocean-front motel) and many beautiful beaches and vistas within a short driving distance (such as Cape Perpetua, Driftwood Beach, and many others). The town of Yachats has just enough to... More

The coast between Yachats and Waldport is wonderful. Not crowded even during a holiday weekend! Plenty of opportunity to let the dog off the leash, and would be a great kite-flying beach!

This is one of my favorite parts of the Oregon coastline, though there are so many gorgeous spots. Yachats itself is a little touristy for me, but fun to visit if you're in the mood. The Yachats coastline is incredible. We stayed at the Adobe and listened all night to the waves pounding the beach and rocks. Yachats has many... More

Breathtaking scenery - look for Patrick's Point and Wedding Rock. I only regret that I didn't have more time to enjoy this amazing coastline. We stayed at Gold Beach and Yachats and would highly recommend both locations.

We went to one tidepool that our lodge suggested and only saw 1 other person there all morning. Yet it was full of all kinds of tide sealife.
