It doesn't get much better than sitting on a tiny little island in the middle of Anguilla's beautiful ocean. It was low season so we almost had it all to ourselves, so peaceful and serene. Snorkeling was just ok, tide was rough so we didn't stay out for too long. Overall, I prefer cove bay for it's better snorkeling, cliff... More

During our recent one-week stay in Anguilla, a few staffers at our resort suggested Sandy Island as a cool destination. After having visited it, along with several of Anguilla's 33 beautiful beaches, I can assure you Sandy Island is overrated. First, if you take the $10 per person ferry that leaves "on the hour" from the pier in Sandy Ground,... More

We were in Anguilla to check out the snorkeling, and Sandy Island is as good as anywhere else on the island, for a delightful beach and above average snorkeling. HOWEVER we went on a holiday the first week of August, when everything was closed. That means one Hobe with 12 people there temporarily, and a couple of families with boats... More

My title pretty much sums it up. My husband and I were debating on whether to go to Sandy Island, I mean as it is Anguilla has amazing beaches, did we actually need to travel? We did and are so happy with our decision. We read the reviews which cautioned against taking an early ferry. We elected to go with... More

We stopped by sandy island for lunch and snorkeling. The snapper was delicious, staff very friendly and laid back. The reef was one of the most unattractive reefs i've ever seen but there were pretty fish.

I was with a group and we sailed to this island. A dream. Wonderful food, great music, beautiful beach. The host was a gem. I cannot say enough about how amazing this place was. A little piece of paradise in so many ways.

We took the 10am boat from Sandy Ground to Sandy Island. I would suggest a later boat as the staff goes out on the 10am boat who are great people. Then they have to get everything set-up which takes awhile. The 11am boat would be better because by the time you get there everything will be ready. We went on... More

What a great little place to stop on the way to another location. We did not eat on the island but whatever they were cooking sure smelled fabulous. This is basically a small dot of sand in the middle of nothing with a bar/food little hut. Very cool!! Water was warm and clear. We did not snorkel but just hung... More

We had a great time visiting Sandy Island. The crayfish for lunch was fantastic and the rum punch was even better. An absolutely beautiful place to spend the day with friends or family.
