Went here on our way back to Portland from Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. It offers a great view and the service is alright. It is really cool to see the hotel (facade only) featured in The Shining and the place keeps its old school charm. Good for a coffee or a drink in the summer. I can... More

There really is nothing I dislike about Timberline. If you stay in the original lodge, be aware that rooms are small. Also, unless you are staying at the hotel, you'll have to walk a bit to get to the lodge.

just visited with out of state family. the lodge is spectacular, the views terrific, and the magic mile quad lift amazing. all the staff are friendly and informative. we ate at the ram's head bar for lunch, and tried out the shining's ax, mugging for the camera. the drinks/food at the ram's head was delicious. nick was our server and... Great views from the top of mount hood and enjoyable drive to timberline lodge. Some youngsters were snowboarding in July. You can also do some hiking. There is a small exhibit about the lodge's history. Historic landmark. Parts of the Shinning were filmed there. I would recommend a trip to Timberline if you plan on enjoying the outdoors. Otherwise the... More

WE love this place. I have never stayed in the lodge but we ski here and eat here. It is so majestic in the winter. A true ski lodge in grand form. In the summer, the gondola is awesome for taking it up and hiking on the mountain. Colors are wonderful in the fall also.

One might think that the famous Timberline Lodge is just a hotel. Actually it is far more than a mere hotel. It is a piece of history that includes breath taking views, skiing, hiking, an amazing place for a wedding, education, a nice drive from Portland, and good food. I don't want to give too much away, so I will... More

We were a bit hesitant after reading reviews, particularly given the price of the rooms and the anticipated price of the restaurant meals. But we were pleasantly surprised. Setting is magnificent and can't be beat. Rooms are rustically elegant and very comfortable (through no air conditioning or Wifi--lobby has wifi). The lodge is a destination point with museum quality historical... More

It is well worth the trip to experience the lodge and the grandeur of Mt. Hood. The wooden beams and the wrought iron are superb. The massive stone stone fireplaces that you can walk into. The views from the second floor are A-one. When you walk out the front door you are looking at Mt. Jefferson about 49 miles away.... More

The whole lodge is like in a old fairy tale. The front lobby has a lots to see. And dun forget to go to the main lobby which is located on the second floor. The mountain behind the lodge is fantastic as well. Must see.
