My husband and I visited the Tillamook Cheese Factory in October 2009. We went right for the unlimited free cheese samples and purchased the "Squeeky Cheese, aka Cheese Curds" to take home. This was the most crowded place we went during a 2-week trip through Oregon. We had lunch there, but It took a long time to get served due to the crowds and the food was mediocre, but the ice cream we had after the tour was great. more

We ran around tour area for like 10 minutes, but spent 40 minutes in the fantastic gift shop and 2 hours in the restaurant. The coffee fudge something icecream was the best in my life! When I got back to FL I about cried when I found out they don't ship and I can't buy it anywhere else but OR.... more

We were really looking forward to the Tillamook Cheese Factory but when we arrived, it was a madhouse. I understand that we visited on the weekend, but we thought it wouldn't be too bad arriving well after lunch. This place was overrated and not really worth the stop. They make you stand in two lines to get ice cream, one to order and one to watch them make it for you. Drove there from Portland, I'm from Wisconsin, so I had to try Oregon cheese! I was impressed. I liked watching the cheese on the conveyor belt. I bought some habenero cheese and sharp cheddar.
