Good overview of the area. The museum gave a good description of the area and what things you could do..

The museum is good and has many interesting features but I have to agree with earlier post it's a little disjointed and jumps around. That said there are many interesting things to see and watch, there is an interesting film on how the gorge was formed and also the native Americans fishing. The birds of prey presentation was great and... More

We toured through this museum for about 2 hours one afternoon during a trip to Oregon. Some decent displays, and a new facility. But, the information is a bit repetitive, and it's a bit lacking in variety. Still, a decent way to pass an hour or two.

This is an excellent Museum. Great history of the area and the depictions of the development of the Columbia Gorge were very well done. We spent nearly a half a day here and had not planned that!

This is a very comprehensive and well displayed history of the gorge and the area of The Dalles. A great learning experience for children and adults.

We traveled along the scenic highway and saw the waterfalls that were close to the highway. Love it!!! So much fun. Recommend it to anyone.

We got there just in time for a small presentation. The lady doing the presentation was great. My son knows a lot about birds and owls (he LOVES them) - and so he was interrupting too much, but she was great and lovely. The rest of the museum was also good. I didn't love the flow of it, but there... More

Having been through this area many times we've never had or taken the time to stop here. While it was educational, it wasn't exceptional.

The Discovery Center is a little out of the way to get to, but well worth it. It has several exhibits, among them a video of the cataclysmic creation of the Columbia River Gorge. Also, artifacts from the Lewis & Clark Expedition. I think it would appeal to children ages 10+.

This was a fairly interesting museum, with good coverage of the history of the area. The highlight of our visit though, was the library, where the woman on duty directed me to wildflower books that helped me identify some of the unusual (to me) flowers that I had photographed on my hikes.
