This small museum packs a pretty good punch with its raptor presentation and the geologic history of the Columbia River gorge. We enjoyed learning about redtailed hawks, kestrels, and great horned owls during the raptor talk. But, I particularly enjoyed learning the geologic history of the gorge...amazing. The Lewis and Clark information was good, but I was pretty familiar with... More

Great museum with exhibits worth reading. The history museum side has interesting exhibits on Lewis &Clark too. An exhibit with geologic formation of the gorge is fascinating with videos, displays, interactive components. All exhibits have good visuals as well as displays with facts to read. There is also an on site live aviary with live presentations from the experts. Don't... More

We debated about whether to go here and whether it might be worth the $9 entrance fee. It turned out to be a nice little museum about the Columbia Gorge. The displays are well done. The place is clean and airy. Worth the visit. I'd guess it's worth it more if you have kids.

Me and a couple of my friends decided to check out this museum at random. It was interesting as to see the history of the local area. The layout is neat as if we were "traveling" through time. It even continued to go outside on the trails and ends on a nice view by the Columbia River and multiple building... More

The museum presents a thorough historic and geologic overview of the Gorge. The bonus was the raptor show with a red-tail hawk and a great horned owl. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful.

This divide between Washington State and Oregon is breathe taking. I was fortunate enough to camp there, listen to the river and the wind in the trees, but my friend who an excellent sailborder had the time of his life to actually get in the river and windsurf, the breeze coming through the Gorge east from the ocean made it... This is a great must see attraction. A great way to learn about the history of the Gorge and the early pioneers and the Indians who inhabited the area.

This fantastic building - with a representation of the river set into the floor in granite - houses a comprehensive history of the native Americans, Wasco county, the gorge and Lewis and Clark - if you go to one place on the river this has to be the best! Also has a great talk about the birds of prey found... More

This place was a nice surprise and I wouldn't have come across it without Tripadvisor so I'm grateful others reviewed it. $9 to get in and you can spend a good deal of time there if you're really interested. Learn about the history and culture area, which includes much about Lewis & Clark. Check out the injured raptors (2 eagles,... More
