The Sunshine Mill now houses Quenett and Copa Di Vino wineries owned and operated by James and Molli Martin, both from The Dalles. Quenett Winery released its first vintage in 2002 and burst onto the wine scene with its outstanding vintages of Sangiovese and Zinfandel. The word Quenett comes from the journals of Lewis and Clark, who camped along luscious and fruitful banks of the Columbia River and learned from the local Indians that the word Quenett meant "Steelhead."

This old grain mill (birthplace of Cheez-Its) has been re-purposed as a winery and tasting room. The decor is century-old mill equipment and makes an amazing place to sample interesting wines.

The Sunshine Mill operated for 130 years milling wheat, including flour for Cheeze-it. It is now a winery, restaurant, and events venue. The new owners have embraced the history and incorporated the machinery as part of their deco. The staff was welcoming and low key. Vicki gave us a guided tour of the place along with it's history and future... More

My wife and I visited the Sunshine Mill Winery last week and enjoyed our experience. The winery decor is very appealing as you walk to the tasting room. The 3 ladies serving the wine tastings to the customers were very nice. The wines very very fresh and crispy tasting, We also had a cheese platter which was delicious. We also purchased... More

The antipasto plate with wine was a great choice. Nice variety of meats, cheeses, and olives, and plenty for two. Very good $5 wine to go with it. They also sell Copa di Vino as featured on " Shark Tank". Interesting history of the mill where Cheez-its were made. Comfortable sitting areas so you can relax and enjoy. Worth a... More

It is a really interesting place to visit. They have wine tasting and a small menu to order from. The place is quirky in its own way. If anything one must visit just to see the interior. I tried the wines - all were good! The staff was pleasant. I am glad I went! It does not take any money... More

We stopped here on our Hop-on/Hop-off tour. the place is built in an old mill where they used to mill the grain the grain for Cheez-its. For $7 you get to choose 5 wines from their selections and get a "Copa de Vino" tossed in as a bonus. I chose the Nirvanna, the Viogner, the Zinfindel, the Cabernet and the... More

Not many things to do at The Dalles. This is one of them. It is a unique setting, wether you like it or not. Do the wine tasting, the wines are good and you get to keep a "Copa de vino". Personally I only tasted the reds and there were surprisingly good.

This place is intriguing! The decor is funky and inviting. The young lady pouring wine was charming and gave us lots of information of on the old flour mill. The wines are good and reasonably priced. Well worth a stop.

Went on a Thursday and not much traffic. Wines are a little pricey and so is tasting fee. They offer some tasty appetizers like antipasto platters and grilled cheese. Nice to see that they offer some shirts and bags-bought a shirt, very cute. Great nostalgia, unique venue. Overall it is a nice winery to sit awhile and enjoy the atmosphere... More

The Sunshine Mill Winery is simple a must see for anyone traveling through or to, The Dalles. The building is a unique part of The Dalles history, and is being thoughtfully restored. A fun wine tasting experience, good food to go with a bottle of wine and interesting programs.......
