Stayed in Sunriver for 7 days and visited the falls 4 times. This is an easy walk or bike ride from Sunriver for any age. Trail is paved up to the bridge that crosses the river and then a short 1/2 miles on hard packed dirt. There is a parking lot near the bridge that is accessed by a paved... More

If you are staying at Sunriver, be sure to bike out to the falls. I biked to the falls and hiked in the last .5 mile but could easily have biked in in the Hybrid I rented. The bike ride is glorious and be sure to go to the viewpoint on the short trail from the far parking lot for... More

The trail from above the falls, runs about a half mile to Benham falls, and is flat and just gorgeous. Hiked it many times, but I think the Fall is my favorite. From below, hiking from Dillon Falls to Benham Falls, the trail is more narrow, but so beautiful along the river.

It's still a nice hike, but this is really a big rapids and not a falls as most people would expect. Still it's a nice hike and there are places to sit along the water and a view point.

More of a walk than hike. Wide smooth paths. Roaring water! Beautiful scenery, great for photographs!

Nice walk through the pine forest. Elevation gain is pretty minimal. Pretty falls. A quick and worthwhile side trip.

Be sure to make time for this during your visit to Sunriver. The paved bike paths of Sunriver give way to a 2.5 mile paved path that ends at a bridge. If you aren't on a mountain bike, walk your bike across the bridge and stow it at the far end. Then enjoy the easy 0.5 mile hike on packed... More

This is an easy walk in the wild. The trail is well maintained and the views of the river and forest along the way make the stroll interesting. The trip is safe and the foot traffic makes everyone feel secure. Allow three hours and bring fluids and something to eat as there are no services. This is a wildland hike.

The trail to the Falls is relatively easy and the river views are special. Go early in the day and take a picnic if you like. We did not encounter mosquitoes this visit, but have in the past. There are several trails along the Deschutes River that are used by hikers and bikers. River rafting is also available.

Horrible. They have black topped it, and cut down all the tree cover. It makes for terrible walking, running and dog walking. We were very, very disappointed that they ruined a great trail.
