One views the lake from the grounds of a low cost resort, which causes some pollution that makes the lake not so clear locally. One can see the clarity of the water away from the dock. Row boats are available to rent. There are large springs feeding the lake and its outflow is the river that forms the falls.

The waters are so clear and blue, almost the colour of Gatorade! What an awesome hike around the lake. Peaceful and lovely.

Nothing man has ever dug can match the beauty of this natural volcanic wonder. It's perfect for Polar Plunges, even in the middle of July! The water is painfully cold but unendingly amazing. The hike around the lake is a good one. The only complaint I have is about the highway noise, which is amplified by the acoustics of the... More

We hiked near the lake and on a loop trail near the McKenzie River. There are several overlooks and waterfalls along the trail, and they are lovely to look at. The trail is a bit challenging, with roots, rocks, and stairs, but not difficult except for a couple of fallen trees and a few high steps (stairs). We started hiking... More

We have been going to this lovely lake & campground for 50 years. We rent a rowboat at the lodge, have a burger and fish or just row around the coves. It's beautiful.

All we did was stop here as we did the Scenic Loop but it looked like a nice place to spend a few days with cabins near the lake and a decent looking restaurant on the premises. The lake is beautifully clear (no false advertising here) and very pretty.

Boats for rent, fishing, cabins, camping and little restaurant. Looks like a low key place. Saw trout by the dock but no fishing from it.

We camped at Cold water campground and hiked around the lake! It was a wonderful time! It did take a while with young children but it was great!

This lake is very, very clear. You can see trees lying in the bottom of the lake. The water is a beautiful green/blue color. We went because the surrounding foliage was in fall colors. Everything was simply gorgeous. We kayaked around the lake. It is a small lake, we could have paddled around it twice. The scenery would be incredible... More
