The colors of this lake are incredible. With the brilliant green of the foliage, you will take tons of pictures. It was a RAINY day when we were there, and the colors were still amazing. Someone said the hike was 4-5 miles, but it seemed more like 6-7 to me. You can rent row boats (which looked fun, but we... More

In much of this Clear Lake. Row boats available to rent. A small restaurant with homestyle food and RUSTIC cabins for rent. Cabins have minimal electricity availability which is limited by blackout periods. There is a petrified forest which is really only visible for divers. Ice cold lake even in the summer. Beautiful, calm day trip. Lake is small so... More

Every year we go to Clear Lake in the fall when the colors are changing, and kayak around the lake. It's amazing to witness the clarity of the water. These truly are the headwaters to the McKenzie River.

What a beautiful little treasure. There are small cabins offered for overnight lodging. There is a bait shop/boat rental shop on the lake. IMPORTANT - no motors allowed. Sometimes lakes like this allow electric motors but I was not able to get a definitive answer on this issue so BRING YOUR OARS and PADDLES. This is an excellent lake to... More

Great lake for kayaking or canoeing but the lake is extremely cold. One side of the lake is so clear you literally can see to the bottom. There are tree snags so be careful if you are in an inflatable. Other side of the lake tends to be choppy, dark and colder. More of a workout for sure. Highly recommend.

I've lived in Oregon most of my life but had never taken the turn off on Hwy 126 to Clear Lake even though it's just an hour and a half from my home. In June 2013, a couple of my photographer friends and I set off on a Saturday morning to take pictures up on McKenzie Pass because we heard... More

The trail around the lake is pretty easy, and there are some wonderful vistas. Be sure to stop at the pool where you can see the springs feeding the lake!

We stopped here on the recommendation of the proprietor at the B&B we were staying at. If we didn't have other plans for the day we would have spent more time here. You just drive right up - no hike to get there - and we rented a rowboat for an hour and floated around. I would definitely go back... More

Just five minutes drive more up the McKenzie Hwy past Sahale Falls, this unbelievebly clear and unbelievably deep lake is special, though you'll need to do the inexpensive rowboat rentals to get out to the deepest part. You can also fisn the stocked lake if that's to your liking or just be laid paid and peacful watching big sky, green... More

We have driven by many times and did not know Clear lake resort was here. Friends told us to rent a cabin. Cant believe we have missed this amazing gem until now. Clean and tidy rustic cabin #7- nice restrooms with showers just up the hill. Unbelievable views from almost anywhere. The lake is wonderful, very cold-not for swimming...boats available... More
