Free tram rides ferry you about the 120 lush acres of gardens at Oregon Gardens. We were fascinated by the Serenity Garden and the waterless garden. Although I consider myself a seasoned gardener, I now absolutely understand how a garden must work with the natural environment and seasons. We saw two weddings in progress - a lovely place to have... More

This is a lovely spot to spend 3-4 hours enjoying a variety of themed gardens and trails. There is a tram that provides a good initial orientation as well as transportation between areas later in the day when you are tired. There is a whimsical children's garden, and a local market garden where we sampled a variety of berries, as... More

This is a great place for gardener sand loves of gardens. Views of the valleys are spectacular and the variety of plants and layouts are terrific. It's a long day to see it all but take the tram first to get oriented.

I have been here before but later in the year, I believe that late spring is the best time to visit, flowers are in full bloom, colors are excellent, trails are well maintained, take the tram first, that will give you an idea on where you might want to go on your own, they do serve some food there so... Loved our visit to The Oregon Garden. It was my second trip and it was even better this time. The free, narrated tram allows for guided tours of the gardens or you are free to walk amongst many themed gardens. Best of all, it is dog-friendly, so, as they say, "well-behaved dogs on a leash" are welcome. There is even... More

A half hour's drive from Salem through rural countryside dotted with farms for grass seed and Christmas tree, the Garden is an easy half day excursion. Anyone interested in plants and garden design will enjoy the visit. Especially impressive are the white oak grove with one 400-year-old specimen and the conifer section with varied and healthy examples. Staff including many... More

This garden was massive, and so extremely lovely on all levels. We loved it, and since we stayed at the resort, we were able to see it in the evening when the full moon appeared. What a memorable event indeed!

We had a Living Social deal for the Oregon Garden Resort and entry to the Garden itself is included when you book a room. We spent an entire Saturday there, and saw everything! Beautifully landscaped gardens, with different ones focused on different things. There was a Northwest garden that showcased all of the plants that grown in the NW, there... More

Located about 15 mi NE of Salem, this garden is beautiful. Its very walkable but also has a free tram in case you can't or don't want to walk it. Lots of amazing and well designed gardens and sculptures to see. Eat at the Lodge, its on a tram stop. Great food, reasonable and every booth has a garden view.... More

The Gardens continue to provide a comprehensive and well-documented guide to Oregon flora. Since our latest visit was immediately proceeded by a visit to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, B.C., we were surprised by the extent to which the Oregon Gardens exceed the standards of Butchart ... and at a lower cost. A small trolley/train is available (at no cost) to... More
