About 15 years old, this "gift" garden has been well-populated with native plants. Can be walked, but many choose to take the free trams that circulate about every half hour and give narrated tours. Parts are still works in progress--parts are old christmas tree farms "gone wild", parts are very nicely designed view corridors reminiscent of those at Versailles. There... More

Even though we live only 25 miles away from the Oregon Garden, we celebrate many of of birthdays and anniversaries there. The comfortable, well-tended cottages, the fine bar and restaurant, the beauty and serenity of the lovely gardens make this a perfect place to commemorate these occasions. And comparing this resort with the many alternatives in neighboring states, this is... More

Oregon Garden is actually a variety of theme gardens, all of which are pretty with a variety of plants, trees, and whimsical sculptures. You can take a tram ride of about 20 minutes to get a great overview or walk around the well laid out course for a more in depth experience. We have visited twice and recommend the walk.... More

We stayed at Oregon Garden Resort, so we got free tickets to visit the Oregon Garden next door. We visited towards the end of March, which might be a bit early for the Spring growth. The garden looks nice though and there are a few active projects going on. The little shuttle cart was very nice with the guide giving... More

It was great! It sprinkled a bit but didn't faze us in the least! Children's garden was awesome spent 45 or so minutes there alone. It was very nice to be able to hop on and off the tram. Bring a picnic lunch! There were many different beautiful spots all around the garden to have picnic covered and uncovered.

Even though we had to dodge rain squalls, got to see their gardening section and a nice forest walk. Love the gift shop -- I always find something interesting there!

These gardens are amazing. The variety and the landscaping are beautiful. Unfortunately we were there a bit to early and the garden had not started it's real Spring growth. This garden is worth a visit anytime. I think that later in the Spring or early Summer would be dramatic.

We were there in March so there were not a lot of blooms out yet and workers were planting and mulching. However, several trees were in bloom and the daffodils were in abundance. Can't wait to see it in Summer when in its full glory

I am not a gardener but I love nature and its creations (flowers, grass, trees, wildlife...). I recently signed up for a (very reasonably priced) membership because I realized I came here so many times last year that it makes sense to get the annual pass (aka, membership), which also has some very nice perks (check the garden website for... It is situated on acreage in the Oregon Foothills east of Salem near Silverton. The views are spectacular. The plantings are very well designed and integrated. They are well kept, pruned and tidy. Lots of different areas - I especially like the conifer garden, the many water features and fountains, and the childrens area. There is a tram to transport... More
