This historic aquarium in Seaside reminded me of the National Aquarium in the Herbert C. Hoover Department of Commerce building in Washington, DC. Thus this aquarium is smaller and old-school (i.e., tanks in the walls), but well maintained and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. In particular, the staff was friendly and helpful, patiently answering all my daughter's questions. Our hotel... More

The Seaside Aquarium is a classic part of Seaside - been there since 1938. I first went when I was 5 years old and it really hasn't changed much since then. The tanks are small and the fish not very active for the most part. The price is high for what you see, but it's still a place you have... More

It's not SeaWorld but it's a good way to spend a couple hours viewing and even getting hands on with aquatic life. My kids, 7 and 5, absolutely are crazy about feeding the seals... this is essentially the highlight of the visit, at least it seemed that way to me by observing the hoards of small children (and even some... The Aquarium is the first place my grandchildren want to go when we visit Seaside. The seals are in a relatively small swimming area and the touching pool is fun for he kids.t It is getting a bit run down but people keep coming back.

It has been in Seaside forever, that should tell you something. Lower your expectations a bunch, and then go have fun. Feed the seals, look at the exhibits, just don't expect anything like Monterrey or Seattle in terms of the experience. It is a do it once kind of place.

We visited last year, and for adults the most fun part is probably feeding the otters (a small extra fee applies). The kids seemed to enjoy the interactive tidepool exhibit the most. Overall I think it's definitely worth a visit at least once. Look for the discount coupon in the Seaside visitor's guide. We vacation in the winter when Seaside... More

I Love coming here! During the month of December admission was 2 canned goods for their food drive. I Love feeding the Seals. Each one of them has a special way of "begging" for the sardines that you purchase for $1.00 for about 8 of them. The aquarium is small, but has hand on tanks to feel starfish and learn... More
