I've been using Salem Public Library for over 35 years. When my offspring were children, we'd drive in from Willamina for a night out! Thank goodness for Salem Public Library and CCRLS. I like everything about it. Here are a few: online book requests, magazine recycling, the Friends of the Library book store sales, Book Clubs, Grab N Go books,... More

I was in Salem several days, and needed a diversion. This was a great place. Good reads, periodicals, use of internet, and as I didn't check anything out, I didnt need a library card. God love libraries. There is also a great geocache here, which make me think the librarians are also pretty cool.

In a digital age with kindles and computer toys, I still love a kind librarian and story time, and the feeling of paper in my paws, and a folded age which marks my coffee stained copy, and reminds me that I'm human and life is messy sometimes and can't be just deleted away. The written word, so special, so luxurious... More

Plenty of reading areas, and the interlibrary loan is great - book not in the library - if it is in the nearbyareas you will have it in a couple of days. I get online ebooks and audio books all the time too.

This library is clearly well managed and does a fine job providing their clients with the service they need. They also put on performances in their adjacent Luecks Auditorium/Lecture Hall. It is a high quality venue and the performances are always fun. Check them out!

The Salem Public Library is one of the best public libraries I have ever visited. The selection of materials is top notch and the facility itself is great. The citizens of Salem use this library - I have never been there when their wasn't a good crowd. One of the selling points in moving to Salem was visiting this library... More

Well-stocked library with helpful, friendly staff. Outstanding children's programming and facility. Permanent collection of Northwest art throughout the library. Circulating collection of framed original art. Frequent free talks and performances at adjacent Loucks Auditorium. Friends of the Library bookstore near main entrance, and good cafe/coffee shop on lower floor.

Check out what's going on in Louck's auditorium. Lots of cultural, local entertainment and lectures. Often for free or low cost.
