This library is clearly well managed and does a fine job providing their clients with the service they need. They also put on performances in their adjacent Luecks Auditorium/Lecture Hall. It is a high quality venue and the performances are always fun. Check them out!

The Salem Public Library is one of the best public libraries I have ever visited. The selection of materials is top notch and the facility itself is great. The citizens of Salem use this library - I have never been there when their wasn't a good crowd. One of the selling points in moving to Salem was visiting this library... More

Well-stocked library with helpful, friendly staff. Outstanding children's programming and facility. Permanent collection of Northwest art throughout the library. Circulating collection of framed original art. Frequent free talks and performances at adjacent Loucks Auditorium. Friends of the Library bookstore near main entrance, and good cafe/coffee shop on lower floor.

Check out what's going on in Louck's auditorium. Lots of cultural, local entertainment and lectures. Often for free or low cost.

To have a library with courteous and helpful employees, an online accessibility and to be able to have my books all waiting for me to pick up. What else could I want? And did I mention the drive up window to drop off your books on a rainy day.

Fun activities for kids and teens thoughout the year. They also have great speakers for the adults. The library itself is a fun place to take the early grade school kids. My grand daughters love to come and check out their own books. Just a great place for all ages. did I mention that they also have computers for those... More

Have you been to one of those teen rooms that hosts the computer lab for adults? This environment is much better! It is well lit, spacious, well organized, and well staffed. Young adult book collections are often jammed into adult collections or stuck into a corner. That is not the case here. Aisles are wide for easy browsing. Come check... More

Our Salem Library is one of the best I have been in. There is something for everyone and every subject you are looking for is here! The reading corner for little ones is a wonderful thing. The kids really seem to enjoy it.

What am I ticked about? Well the library itself is fine,...even good. The stupid greed of a city that charges a parking meter price is disgraceful. Here is a place where low income people use to be able to take kids to learn to read, have education fun & get turned on to books and adventure, and they rob you... More

Our Salem library is a wonderful place to take your kids. They have more things going on that are geared to the kids, on an ongoing basis. Wednesday's are reading, singing and dancing about for different age groups throughout the day. Then after reading time, which lasts a half hour, you can take your child/children to the Discovery Room where... More
