Go at a non-busy time before lunch. We felt we got a private tour at a leisurely pace with our many questions answered. Must be nice to have money! I am so glad the estate preserved this elegant and well-maintained home. It is heavily used for receptions and weddings. The antiques are behind glass but replica period furnishing allow tourists... Amazing details went into this house. It's a treasure! Especially liked the stained glass windows. Volunteer hostess very knowledgeable about the history.

Deepwood is well worth a visit if you are coming to Salem. It's location, while not downtown precisely, is close enough that one can certainly walk. And there is ample parking as well. Additionally, it is adjacent to Bush's Pasture Park and the Bush House, so these activities can be easily combined. A tour of the beautiful Victorian mansion is... More

Great spot if you like lovely gardens and historic homes. There's no cost to walk the gardens and nature trail. There is a small cost for a tour of the home which was well worth it. See their web site for special events. The house can be rented for parties and other events.

Historic beautiful home, have taken the tour couple of times, its just lovely. During the tour, you will receive information of life during the time the house was built. The gardens are wonderful, take a deep breath and enjoy.

Taking a tour through Deepwood brings back a simple time when women wore such sweet and yet elegant classic wardrobes. The furnishings are lovely and it's garden is a lovely place to listen to music, when they have it or arrange to married there in the lovely garden.

This home dates from the late 1800s. The tour was very informative and it was interesting to see how people lived back then. The gardens are quite lovely and cool on a hot summer's day.

My daughters took me to a Mothers Day Tea that was put on by the estate. We had such a good time. The food was very good and the service from the ladies that put it on was impeccable. We then got a personal tour through this beautiful estate from one of the ladies. It was just a delight.

We visited Deepwoods on one of the hottest days in May, and felt refreshed as we strolled along the pathways which offered plenty of shade. The flowers were blooming beautifully, and were all labeled so we knew more about the plant life there. It was a great place to take some photos, sit on a park bench, and stroll by... More
