I have a 3.5 yr old boy, and was hesitant to go at first because I did not know if he would find it fun being so young. I'm glad we went though, he had a blast! And so did I.

The Gilbert House is prefect on a sunny or rainy day. Great play structure for the kids to explore and burn off some energy. Each house on the property has different learning events, arts and crafts and more exploring. I've been to the Gilbert House during holiday events, birthday parties and just for fun.

We spent the day here with two other families (kids from 9-9 months). Everyone had a great time. The play structure was wonderful and the kids all had a great time. The hands on play areas are well organized and the kids had a great day.

Great for little ones, not very expensive. Wait for a day that is not packed if possible. Although, there are a few special days that they do that you should enjoy too. We loved the bubble room! Make sure if your going on a hot day to wear sunscreen because the play equipment can get HOT!

This place is a must for children. Lots of hands-on learning and discovering. Adults have just as much fun. Plan on going and spending the day.

This is one of the most interesting, fun places you could take children AND adults. It is also good on a rainy day. I can't say enough about it, you just have to go and "discover" it (pun intended)

Very large children's museum and activity center based in Riverfront park. Plan for about four hours. There is lots of hands-on science type activities and a large play area for physical activity.

There is a lot to do here - inside the houses are themed exhibit rooms such as China, the rainforest, a veterinarian's office, and a grocery store. There are a lot of stairs, so if you bring a stroller you have to leave it in the lobby of each house. Outside are huge climbing structures, one looks like a plant... More

This is a fun children's museum, and something special for a city the size of Salem. Our son likes to come here when we are on vacation again and again, but don't expect anything like the Portland Children's Museum or OMSI. It is small, but still engaging, with some interesting, unique displays, like the bubble making activities, the light-wall rooms,... More
