The first time I went into the Spangler tasting room, I was hosted by Pat Spangler, the owner and winemaker himself, and I've subsequently become friends with his wonderful wife Loree as well. I like Big Hairy Red Wines and believe me Pat make them. They have a cool gift shop as well. Easy access off I-5 at one of... More

This was our 15th Oregon winery visit and we are red wine only drinkers so we tasted the reds. Nice but still a bit on the light side for us so we paid the $5.00 tasting fee but did not take anything home. The greeters were wonderful friendly warm and fuzzy Akita's and they made the stop totally worthwhile. Hubby... More

Their wines are good (especially their cab franc) However, when we recently visited their tasting room, we had a terrible experience. When I opened the door to enter the tasting room, I was "greeted" by a large Akita who growled and lunged at me. Luckily I was able to slam the door quickly and avoided getting bitten. when I mentioned... More

The best wine was the Southern Oregon Cabernet. I was disappointed with the other selections. It Might be my taste but I preferred the wines at Abacela which is just down the road.

Warning there are some dogs when you first walk in. Don't be alarmed though! They are sweet and well maintained. They greet you and then go lay in the corner. They know their role :) The owner was fantastic to say the least. He knew his wines and you could tell he loves his job. All of his wines were... More

This is a small winery that has some fantastic wine. The winery is difficult to find as it is really out of sight. Once you get there you will love its spectacular placement in this small valley.

Reds were pretty decent, in particular his Claret, very smooth! The three dogs inside the tasting room were friendly....great looking dogs. Their pours are a bit short from the norm. The lady at the counter blew our minds when she told us she was "70" she looks fantastic for her age not to mention her personality is so much FUN!... More

Come on ...being hospitable is an integral part of ANY business, more so in the wine industry. This owner does not connect with his customers on any level, he has no idea the importance of taking the basic steps to have his customers feel welcomed. If it had not been for the mature friendly short black hair lady we would... More

I was able to visit this winery with a good friend of mine who happens to be one of their wine club members. It is off the beaten path but very worth the effort to visit. Being a person that favors red wine, I decided to focus on tasting the reds. As I progressed through the tastings, I found myself... More
