Clear Creek Distillery was on our "to do" list when we visited Portland. A short walk out of Knob Hill, the distillery had a nice tasting area and offered a variety of fruit brandies, liqueurs, and grappas. Tasting is limited to five varieties per person, and there is a $5 fee to taste which is waived if you decide to... More

I visited this wonderful Distillery and owner Steve McCarthy was in the tasting room at the time. He took the time out of his busy day and gave me a little tour of the property. I was very impressed with the pride that he has for his products. Mr McCarthy is a farmer first and then a distiller. The family... More

We stopped in to the distillery to see the large selection of products they have on offer. The distillery has a range of brandies, grappas and liqueurs. The pear brandy and Oregon brandy were excellent. The liqueurs, which are much sweeter, were also quite good but very different in alcohol content and uses. The tasting is free which is a... More

We stopped at Clear Creek Distillery for a tasting based on good reviews and some articles that had been written. The lady who was doing the tastings told us a little bit about each product, but didn't go out of her way to educate us the company or backgrounds. She mentioned the liquors would be good on ice cream, but... More

If you are into fruit spirits this is a must. I was invited for a tasting and was happy to go, this is incredible. Steve gave us a complete tour and shared what it takes to make a Top shelf Spirit. Clear Creek has many different Spirits, My personal favorite is the Oregon Cranberry, the Pear is a very close... More

I've been meaning to get here for many years and finally made time today, boy am I glad I did and boy am I disappointed it took me so long. I was welcomed to the tasting room by none other than the owner Steve who founded Clear Creek in 1985 having enjoyed eau d' vie when spending time in Europe... More

Making a visit to the tasting room to try and buy more varieties of Clear Creek products than the too few available at our local liquor store was at the top of our "to do when next in Portland" list. In Portland for a few days last week, off we went to Clear Creek. Highly recommend their products, turning up... More

Really interesting things going on here! Craft spirits from locally grown fruits. Friendly and informed staff. I would advise to try the Douglas Fir Eau de Vie, it really grows on you! Great time!

If you like craft distilleries, a visit to Clear Creek is a worthwhile excursion. They make many kinds of spirits from local Oregon fruits. I have tried this myself with fruit from my backyard, and they provide a gold standard to shoot for. Good to go with several people, as you can only taste five (state regulation), so with more... You will have the opportunity to taste a variety of brandies and liquors from their distillery. Some are sweet, some dry, and it was a nice experience. Doesn't last past a half hour, and is a nice change of pace. I would advise to skip the Pine flavor infused brandy, but the others, especially the pear were decent.
