If you like craft distilleries, a visit to Clear Creek is a worthwhile excursion. They make many kinds of spirits from local Oregon fruits. I have tried this myself with fruit from my backyard, and they provide a gold standard to shoot for. Good to go with several people, as you can only taste five (state regulation), so with more... You will have the opportunity to taste a variety of brandies and liquors from their distillery. Some are sweet, some dry, and it was a nice experience. Doesn't last past a half hour, and is a nice change of pace. I would advise to skip the Pine flavor infused brandy, but the others, especially the pear were decent.

We had a great time doing something different, liquor tasting at 10am is always good! I wish I could remember the name of the woman who gave us the tutorial of the products that they make because she was informative and nice to visit with. We left with two delicious bottles of liquore and will look for their beverages when... More

We dropped by the distillery to pick up some eau to vie for a friend, and ended up sampling a wide range of liqueurs and grappas. We not only learned a great deal, we acquired some interesting items and had a wonderful time. A bit out of the way, but a stop not to be missed when visiting Portland.

I stopped by here one afternoon. They have some excellent brandies and eaux de vie. Free samples of some nice liquors including a Marc de Gewürztraminer that I tried that was as good as some I had in Germany a few years ago. I bought a few bottles while I was there. The woman that was working the tasting room... More

Clear Creek Distillary was started by Steve McCarthy to help his pear growing faamily in Hood River. He started the Pear eau d'vie with a Pear-in-the-Bottle by placing bottles over tiny pears in the orchard. He opened a distillery in NW Portland (recently moved to the NW Industrial area), and soon had a line of prized distilled spirits. He cooperated... More

Stopped by and not really sure what to expect. They weren't giving tours when we stopped by but what a introduction to their drinks!! We were fortunate to have the showroom to ourselves So we had the undivided attention of the Clear Creek employee. She was so knowledgable on the products we were sampling and learning about the process from... More

Add tasting distilled liqueurs to this growing list of Portland foodies adventures. The staff is passionate and so very knowledgeable. Check the website before you go to see if there is something special happening at the facility during your visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting room visit - and the tasting. Go! Learn. Sample. Enjoy.

I went on the tour today and it was wonderful. Gracious, amusing folks who love what they do. Their spirits are exceptional, their liqueurs are great. The best part is it's free. Who knew??

Oregon is known for some fine craft breweries but now there is a movement for craft distilling. Steve McCarthy of Clear Creek has been ahead of the curve with his distillery. He started 23 years ago. He has an interesting line of Eaux de Vie, brandy distilled from fruit wine. They even have some brandy bottled with fruit grown in... More
