We didn't need to ride the tram to get somewhere, we just took a ride for fun. If you are scared of highs, you might avoid it. There are a few bumpy spots, & it swings a bit. Other than that, it was fun and you get a great view if you're by the window.

Do the 4T Trail!!! Awesome experience of 4 modes of transportation beginning in downtown Pioneer Square. Learned about it in Travel Portland magazine I got before our trip. 4t-trail.org. Great way to earn views of the city. Capped off by the aerial tram where you can see the whole city and Mt Hood. Tram ride was gorgeous at sunset!!!!

I grew up near Portland and had been to OSHU many times when my children were small, so it was a treat to see the city from that advantage point. I felt like a tourist! I was snapping photos and taking videos. If you have the opportunity, you should do the round trip, you can see different things going down... More

I lived in Portland before they constructed this tram. It was surreal to experience the city in this way. The view from the hospital is breath-taking as well. An amazing experience for those from Portland and travelers alike.

It was a short but enjoyable ride to the top of the hill to the OSU Med Center. It is a hospital, so be mindful of that when you go. Employees, patients and family members also ride this tram to get to the Hospital itself. That being said, people there, especially the volunteers are extremely helpful in pointing out the... More

My boyfriend and I walked the Tilikum Crossing to the Portland Aerial Tram. Buying tickets was easy ($4.50 roundtrip) and getting on the tram was quick and painless. There seemed to be a mixture of people going to work at the hospital (at the top of the tram) and tourists. The ride is short, but you do get a nice... More

Took the tram up toOHSUhospital, then took hiking trails up the hill to Council Point park. Tram was great fun. $4.50 round trip, short ride, but the bestowed even in the rain.

Quick and easy process on a Wednesday afternoon and awe inspiring views all along the way. Make sure to position yourself facing up on the ascent and down on the return (my preference). One point is a little rocky but there is warning given beforehand.
