If you have time for this tram ride, it's a fun thing to do. Great views of the city and gives you an excuse to explore the South Waterfront area. The ride is fairly short and you have to stand up in the tram, but you probably want to stand anyway so you can see the view. Riding down the... More

If you're doing a walking tour (or tram tour) of Portland, might as well stop by. Gives a nice view of the downtown area and three mountains. Once you hit the top, it's a nice chance to grab something to drink (there's a little shop) and sit outside while you enjoy the view!

While the tram is a commuter option to the OHSU hospital, it is still worth the trip for the views! I have been there at night and in the day. You can see Portland's bridges and it is quite a pretty sight at night. In the day, you can get your bearings before exploring Portland further. It does not take... More

This tram is only $4 per person. There is a short but amazing trip up the hill with great views all the way. When you get to the top, you can see miles in every direction. Mt St Helens, Mt Hood, all sorts of things. Interestingly, you don't end up on a mountain top or something; no, the cable car... More

The tram is really just a service lift between two parts of the hospital. The view was not spectacular and the coffee shop at the top is really just the hospital cafeteria (hospital food).

The aerial tram is a fun, relatively inexpensive Portland activity. Keep in mind that this is a commuter vehicle for staff at OHSU hospital, not designed as a tourist attraction. If you have people visiting, this is a good way to start your day in Portland, rather than a main activity. It's $4.35 per person, kids 6 and under free.... More

This is a great tourist activity on a clear day. I take visitors to the top and they ride down the hill for free, then I meet them at the bottom of the tram. I would go at midday or check for weekend openings (it's seasonal). It's busy around start and end of the work day and can get quite... More

While the Aerial Tram might not have been designed as a tourist attraction, it clearly has turned into one. Evidently designed to provide efficient transportation between two parts of OHSU's campus (part of which is on the top of a hill), the tram provides incredible views of downtown and the mountains which surround Portland.

The tram is a great way to see the wonderful Portland cityscape. I believe it's primarily used by students, faculty and staff at OHSU to get to and from various parts of the campus. You can arrive by bus, streetcar or bike (lots of bike parking). And grab a bite to eat at one of several cafes near the yet... More

I suggest that you use the trolley and get off at the Aerial Tram stop and ride up either at sunset or nighttime for a unique view of the City of Portland. During the day I had a great clear view of Mt. Hood and in the evening I watched the light of Portland come on after the sun went... More
