Went out of our way to go here. The ride lasted about four minutes, ends at a hospital entrance, and yes you get a nice view of Portland, but through glass, so you can't take photos. Not worth it. And if you ignore my reco, at least be sure to grab BOTH tickets that print when you buy your ticket... More

During our Portland visit, last July,we had to visit one of the medical institutes in the city. So nice to know that the best way to reach that complex of centers is with the Aerial tram.we"ve noticed that lot of the patients and the medical personal are using this nice quick and spectacular transportation . The cost is very moderate and... More

Saw this advertised in the airport and thought it would be fun. But when we got there and took it up, we found out it just went up to a bunch of hospitals so we came right back down. There were great views of Portland, but not worth it to me. Good thing we only paid a few bucks each.

We were able to see Portland. Great view, quick and not too crowded. Too bad there is no stores to see and no coffee shop.

if you enjoy hiking in the forest a few miles from downtown Portland, Google Portland 4-T Trail and follow the direction by taking the public transportation to Portland highest point of Council Crest Park for a great view, then hike, 90% downhill, 2.6 miles In a forest, another 1/2 mile walk to the hospital's aerial tram down to Moody Street... I had seen the tram from the highway and wanted to explore it. The trip is very short, but does provide a great view of the city and the mountains. The destination is the Oregon State University medical centre that provided us a lovely shady spot to relax on a very hot Portland day. The trip is $5 for adults,... More

This tram is part of the 4T Hike in Portland: train, trail, tram and trolley. You can start at the zoo and end at downtown Portland or vice versa. Besides the practical function of the tram for the people working in the hospital, tram is open to the public for small fee. The fee is absolutely worth the price to... More

If you want to get a quick visual overview of Portland, take the aerial tram. Easily accessed by Portland streetcar.

Not much to add to the other [good] reviews, except to note that the Aerial Tram is part of the transit system and free if you take the tram there. We rode bikes from downtown along the Waterfront Path. You can take bikes on the Aerial Tram but the ride down is treacherous, so do the return trip (same price... More
