Short, but dramatic ride up the mountain with a transition spot that causes the huge cabin to rock back and forth. I liked it, but might freak some people out. At the top, you arrive at Oregon Health and Science University hospital, which seemed an odd place for such an attraction. This is explained on their website: "As many as... More

There were lots of neighbors up in arms when it was planned and built. But, I've loved it from the beginning. Try for the windows facing the river and prepare to look all around - mountains, city scape, river - wow. It's not over when you get to the top. Be sure to walk to the right and see the... More

You go from the bottom on Marquam Hill to the top at OHSU's front door. The views are unbeatable. One way or roundtrip, you decide. Wow!

If you take a bus up the hill to the hospital it is free to take the tram down. If you start at the bottom I believe it is $4.50 a person.

Whilst staying in Downtown Portland we walked to the SW Waterfront to take the Aerial Tram. Not the nicest walk, partly due to all the work going on in the area affecting cycle routes and sidewalks so recommend taking the street car which we used to return. At $4.50 for a return trip (it's free if you only come down)... More

For $4.50 round trip, the aerial tram is the best way to see the whole City of Portland. The view is spectacular. We were able to see Mt. Saint Helen & Mt. Hood. We just took the TriMet from downtown to the tram station. Spend a few minutes above and absorb the beauty of Portland.

Rising from the parking lot near the Willamette River up to the Oregon Health and Science Hospital in the hills above, the tram provides views across most of the city and the adjacent river and bridges as Mt. Hood far to the East. At the top, there are terraces for viewing and absorbing more of the captivating views.

Really enjoyed the cheap ride across the sky. It was worth it. We went around 10:30 in the morning and was I ever so glad when I saw the line later around the lunch hour. WOW. Watch your time to avoid the rush.

I have to go to Oregon Science and Health University fairly often and I frequently choose to ride the tram rather than take the bus. It's a short ride, but extremely interesting. The tram itself is smooth and well-run, with an operator providing instructions and assurance. Excellent for kids.

The tram doesn't really go anywhere useful to a visitor, but you should just go up and back down for the view. This tram (fits 30+) quickly takes you to a height that affords great views of Portland and Mount Hood. The price (~$4.50) is reasonable for the view you get. Go on a nice day. Take public trans right... More
