The movie theater located in NW district near many good restaurants. Before 6pm cost only $7.5. Though only 3 movies at a time, but they are unique and good taste.

Portland's Cinema 21 is one of the best deals in NW Portland. The cinema itself is quite old so you're not going to get any fancy chairs or flashy interiors. But this is the place where you get to see some of the best new, independent, arthouse, and foreign films in the Pacific Northwest. It's also located in a popular... More

This movie house has been around for years, and recently added 2 new screens with improved sound. They feature independent films that are interesting and timely. At times, they will have classic older films. Very reasonable. Parking on the street (NW 21st).

This old popular theatre which shows interesting international, intellectual, art nouveau, sometimes pre-release films has added two new theaters!! You need to be alert to what is showing - sometimes the line to get in is more than a block long. Located in a part of town near great shopping and a plethora of restuarants and bars. Fun, stimulating, inexpensive,... More

I went here for the 4th Anniversary screening of The Room, that modern classic of horrible filmmaking. This is a nice theater. Takes me back to my childhood and some of the theaters we used to frequent. The event was fun (although due to technical difficulties it got started about 30 minutes late.)

My friends and I saw Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing here. It's located in a great area with pubs and atmosphere. The theater is old but comfortable. All in all, a very good experience.

Cinema 21 is an older theater with a lot of charm . The staff is friendly , seats comfortable and surrounding area beautiful . It is easy to get to by tram and NW 21st has many varieties of restaurants and shops to support local business. The price of movies are inexpensive and always a great selection of indie films... Most of the movies run here are not mainstream big theatre movies but they tend to be well written and well acted.

Cinema 21 is noted for showing classics, indies, foreign, and controversial films. The theater is older, and doesn't feel like the new multiplexes with plush rocking seats. However, it is often the only place in town to see films I want to see. I follow their listings to find out what is playing.

We visited this cinema on a whim as we noticed they were showing an old Hitchcock in 3D!!! The ticket price was very cheap and the snack bar staff very friendly and helpful. They were kind enough to take a photo of us crazy Katoomba people. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of this old style cinema, intermission and all.
