Good if you are on a budget for getting to central downtown hotels and Lloyd District hotels, especially during rush hour. But by taxi without traffic it is 12 minutes to the Lloyd Center versus 30 minutes by Max plus waiting time and walking to your hotel with bags...so maybe 40 to 45 minutes. I take it when I am... It may seem strange to list a light rail system as an attraction, but I admit that it is one of the things that attracts me to this city. It's easy to use, convenient, generally takes you where you want to go, and makes Portland one of those cities I can visit for business or pleasure without needing to rent... More

easy to travel everywhere in Portland with this public transportation. Quick and tidy, and you passenger can go to main places in the area. Not difficult using the ticket machine, a convenient choice. And, as a matter of fact, MAX looks good and value-add to Portland as a tourist attraction as well.

We used the MAX several times during a recent visit. It was affordable and easy to use. As we are both seniors, we paid only a dollar for a two hour period as we are in the category of Honored Citizen. Check the description to see if you qualify. Our tickets were checked once by a monitor on board. As... More

First experience with this type of public transportation and we thought it was great! Easy to use and reasonable priced.

The public transportation in Portland is incredible. For an area of approximately 600,000+ people, Portland is small compared to Orange County, CA. The MAX is so convenient, priced right and well run that residents put it to good use. I wish we had the system here.

We took the yellow line MAX from our hotel to downtown Portland and enjoyed our trips. Relaxing, prompt and reasonably priced ($5 for a day pass). Big thanks for the driver who saw us running and waited for us!!! Highly recommended, leave the car at your hotel, take transit. Gordon

A quick, easy, and economical way to get around Portland - while avoiding the hassle of parking and the inevitable Portland traffic jams. If your final destination is downtown, MAX can't be beat.

Free within parts of City Center Portland! It's a fun thing to do with the kids. They enjoy riding around town. Just make sure it's not at the time of a Blazers game (some people might have had too much to drink and make the experience less fun for the family).

I'm not sure what I think?! Rode the MAX off and on this past weekend while in PDX. Rode it from the airport into downtown and also to the Expo Center. While the system works, it's very slow and just seems to be tired and run down. As a few other reviewers have mentioned, there appear to be alot of... More
