You can take MAX from downtown to the Airport. One of the easiest rides in the US. Great for east-west via downtown. Not just for tourists, everybody rides MAX.

If you are arriving in Portland and staying in the City Center without a car, this is by far the most convenient mode of transport around the city. It is economical and efficient!

Excellent way to get from the Portland Airport Marriott's to downtown. The Max light rail train picks me up at the Airport Marriott Residence Inn.

IF you were thinking about using MAX as a tourist thing to do...... don't. There are still too many who think it is free.. and they are the sort of people who can scare even world travelers.

This is a great way to get around in Portland. It's affordable and easy to navigate! I wish every large city had transit like this!

This train system is convenient, easy to use, gets you to almost anywhere in Portland you'd want to see, as well as going out to the suburbs. They h e day passes that are very reasonable compared to other cities and even better deal for seniors who are called honored citizens in Portland. I love this city!

When my wife and I were here on vacation for a Submarine Veterans reunion we took the MAX from the airport, where our hotel was, to the downtown Saturday Market which saved us plenty considering the reunion bus ride to the market area cost $21 each and we only spent $2 each on the MAX. That savings alone made this... More

If you love getting to and from the airport quickly, cheaply, and dry in the winter, MAX is the way. Of course, it serves more than the airport and downtown Portland; it reaches out to suburbs to the west and east, with a new route to the south opening at the end of summer 2015. But we don't use MAX... More

Lived and been a lot of places with worse systems. Really adore the Max to and from PDX (Airport) so handy. New line that goes from my neighborhood all the way to the suburban town of Wilsonville, super great for commuters. Like any other public transpo, you see a lot of characters.

It ususally gets you to where you want to go on time. Most often the cars are not very clean. There doesn't seem to be many fare checkers.
