This was our 1st trip here and it's a fun place. We had drinks and dinner in the cypress room while we waited for the movie to start. After the movie we hit the detention room floor the guys could get a cigar and they smoked while we sat at the fire pit in the court yard. We'll be back.

Stayed here one night on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Total cost for a room with private bathroom - $135.00 plus tax.Our room was called "Golf In The Kingdom" #136 and was located in a newer updated wing. The room was a spacious, king bed, beautiful headboard, quaint bathroom with a pedestal sink, limited counter space, no tub only a shower,... More

This is an amazing, Portland thing to do! Such a quaint, weird, atmosphere. Great for a drinks and movie-date night, or stay at the hotel and dine in style at one of the many restaurants inside. You will not be disappointed! By the way, you sit on old-school couches in the movie theater! You will not find this anywhere else... More

Our hotel staff recommended we check it out for the "view and brew" and we just loved it! Such a cool idea to re-use a character filled building! There's a little something for everyone there...we checked out a new movie for only $3 and enjoyed drinks and food while relaxing in comfy couches. Prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere... We met friends at Kennedy School on Saturday night. Kennedy School is an old Portland Public School on the east side near 33rd and I-84. It has been transformed into a hotel, restaurant, bar and movie theater venue. The school was super crowded on Saturday night. We tried getting into the Boiler Room bar first. The pool game happening in... More

What a terrific concept to convert a beautiful old school building into hotel rooms, bars, restaurants, meeting places. Food and service is terrific and the copper and pipes (art)works in one of the bars is breathtaking. Lots of good beer and music. A definite must in your travel itinerary.

This old school has been transformed into a modern wonder. Maintaining the original character, the school has been updated with an amazing Boiler Room Bar, a cigar room, a restaurant (in the old cafeteria). Classrooms are meeting rooms, banquet rooms and a few have been turned into "Bed and Breakfast" style overnighters. We inquired about the old Math Classroom. I... More

In keeping with the motto, "Keep Portland Weird," Kennedy School does just that, but in a really good way. My first time ever in Portland, and while our touring objective was "downtown," we kept enjoying the amenities and activities at Kennedy School. After being downtown all day, the "in-house" restaurant was convenient and preferable to venturing out to find an... More

This place is a full venue. Restaurants, gift shop, Hotel, Walking paths, Hot spa pool, Concert Venue. Came here to see Tony Bennett Concert on the Lawn and it was great ! There are several restaurant bars on premises to choose from. The gift store has interesting and unusual items. The Lodge itself is old and full of character and... More

Our nearly 18 yr old son was not allowed to go to the movies here in the evening due to 'adult beverages'. Too bad, as we wanted to go see a flick. We had dinner instead, which was a great choice for us because we were hungry anyway.
