Went with a buddy on a whim. The beers are $12.00 IIRC.
The coliseum is aged and not up to the level of the super modern Moda center next door. But you know what? We had a blast. The tickets are cheap and the skating was professional. The building fits for its purpose. It is in a safe area and the staff is super friendly. If you are looking for 'plush' ... don’t go.
Ps. The Max line takes you right to the front door of the whole complex

This is located in the Rose Quarter just off I-5 next to the Moda Center, formally the Rose Garden event center. These two facilities are where most of the local events happen such as NBA basket, circus events, concerts and state high school tournaments.

This was our second time seeing the Winterhawks play at the Memorial Coliseum. The first time was this past Christmas and they had a tebby bear toss which was amazing to see. There were like a million stuffed animals thrown out on the ice for the fire fighters to use for families that have lost everything very cool. This time they had an airplane toss. We didn't win anything with our airplane flying skills, but it was fun. I feel the Moda Center is a little nicer venue , but the coliseum offers cool special events and don't have a bad seat in the house. Bring cash, the vendors along the outside of the building don't take credit cards.

Pretty full crowd for a hockey game yet concessions stands are closed lines at the open ones are SLOW - painfully slow. 40+ minutes for nachos and a soda. Ushers letting folks walk up and down and all around while puck is in play but don’t put your coat in a railing....that’s not safe 🙄 Not impressed

Seats were too small. Staff was slow, and everything was way overpriced. The place felt more like a museum than a coliseum. And the place was dirty nasty. Like being in a downtown gutter motel.

Getting through the lines was easy. Getting a beer was easy. Getting food was easy. Getting to our seats was easy. I forget how small the seats are, a little uncomfortable. But 9 adults and 2 children had a blast watching the fights and action on the ice.

I was there for an athletic event. Athletes from all over the country! There were just 2 food vendors, bathrooms were dirty, not a lot of employees around to help!

I attended a show where classes were held. Considering that everyone uses a laptop these days, the rooms did not have adequate plug ins and people who did not have large enough batteries could not use their laptops.
