In Season It Is Spectacular

A under-used hidden gem of Portland. In season, it is amazingly lovely and peaceful. There are some great little coffee spots just blocks away.

Has many, many roses. Great place to just walk, think, read a book, smell the flowers or go for a run.

Had a wonderful time driving through this area with all the trees changing colors. The rose garden was nearing the end of the blooming season, but there were still plenty of wonderful roses.

Second time here and unfortunately the season had passed for the most part. There were a few roses to see and smell but we were told to come in the summer for the best time. Still it was nice to get out and walk and smell the fresh air. They now have a parking fee which was new for us.... More

This is a great park. I love the rose garden, maintained by volunteers as well as park staff, and it's a welcoming place for families and people seeking beauty, company or solitude. There's also a ramp that aids in accessibility. I've been to a wedding here that was fantastic, and the community center is lively and fun. Really a great... More

I've come here many times for two main reasons: to take a walk with friends or associates, a quick break from the workday or to let a child friend play in the playground while we adults caught up. It's a local park, mostly, and not worth it if you were coming from out of town to visit Portland and wanted... More

We had a hard time finding this original rose garden...the one we visited 50 years ago on our honeymoon! But we persevered and enjoyed revisiting this beautiful garden again! It was a perfect day, and the lovely center fountain offered a cooling mist as we strolled though the many rose bushes, all in glorious bloom. The "sunken" garden is not... More

I used to live in North Portland and always take out of town visitors here. It is older than the more famous International Test Garden and there are early 20th century structures that give the right atmosphere. When the roses are in bloom it is heavenly.
