One of the most photographed spots on Oregon. Great for early morning sunrise or late night. Camping and fishing oppurtuities in sring and summer. Cross coutey sking and snow shoes in the winter. A winner.

A gorgeous lake with Mt Hood as a backdrop! Gentle walks will take you completely around the lake. Camping sites dotted through the bush areas around the lake but nothing too intrusive. Beautifully quiet... almost serene with still water offering reflections of Mt Hood.

We hiked to the 2-mile loop around the lake, and then enjoyed the beauty of the area. Unfortunately, it was an overcast day, so we didn't get those spectacular views of Mt. Hood from the lake. Still, I love grey days, so it was perfect. There were few people out there, so we felt like we had the mossy forest... More

Love the morning peaceful beauty. No motors only kayaks, canoes and floats. Sunny and beautiful afternoons with lots of campers and families. Truly one my my FAVORITE places

We went snowshoeing here back in December. We went on a weekday which was perfect, I think we saw less than 10 people. When we arrived, it was grey and gloomy, but as we made our way to the lake, the clouds parted and we were treated to the most amazing view of Mt. Hood you can imagine. Truly stunning.

This small lake sits at the base of Mt. Hood. It has lots of camp grounds that are at the lake level. A popular place to Kayak. There is a lovely, level hiking trail around the lake. It can be crowded at the beach at one end of the lake on a summer weekend.

This place and location is single handedly one of the most beautiful and tranquil places I have ever been. We hiked up the mountain and around the lake for hours. You don't need any electronics or any other distractions while you're here. Its serene and totally relaxing. A must if you're close by.

Great view of Mt Hood reflected in the lake. This is a gentle hike or cross-country ski trip. There is a road, but I have never driven there, only skied.
