We were driving from Hood River to Crater Lake. I had seen some terrific photos from this lake looking at Mt. Hood. I told my wife we have to stop, even for a short 20-30 minute break. VERY glad we did. Just head to the picnic grounds off highway 26. Park your car and walk about 100 yards to the... More

We Love to come here to Kayak, tho a bit overcrowded on the weekends! But during the week, it is wonderful. As we live only about 20min from here, it is easy to pop up during these very warm days during the week.

Camped out at Trillium Lake Campground, there are a lot of campsites, but we got there pretty late in the day and got one of the few remaining spots. We swam in the lake, which wasn't too cold, and there was a great view of Mt. Hood. In the morning before the sun was too high and there was barely... More

We picked Trillium for a quick hike before the rain began. It was an easy and lovely 2 mile (or so) hike. Would definitely recommend as a quick walk!

Lovely lake with a tremendous view of Mt Hood. Go on a clear day with very little wind and you will see a mirror-like refection of Mt Hood. I went in Oct from Portland turned into the day use park area.

This is a beautiful lake filled with fun and history. Mt. Hood is in the background adding to the picturesque beauty. There are Trails around the Lake and lots of campground places or tables for picnics or family gatherings. You can swim or canoe or raft. There are no motor boats or jet boats allowed. I have seen people fishing... More

This is a close lake to the area I live in Welches. We have been going here for over 20 years. There is a nice boardwalk around the lake that is an easy hike around it. Nice picnic areas and BBQ spots. If you are coming up from Portland, just know this area can get really crowded compared to some... More

It is very serene if you are seeking a quiet place to go. You can walk all the way around the lake. It was okay watching little ones fishing off the dock, but I noted pre-teens and up seemed to be bored.

Gorgeous lake with view of Mt. Hood. We tried fishing but didn't catch anything. It mostly like was because of all the kids splashing around. Lots of kids and young people. Have to get there early to find parking and a place to set down yourself. Make sure to bring lifejackets for those who are not strong swimmers. Lake is... More
