A group of us booked Sea to Summit to get from downtown Portland to Mount Hood. Shahn drove us to Mount Hood Meadows and helped us get our lift tickets and rental equipment. The ride to the mountain was affordable, clean, and comfortable. Shahn was easy to contact before getting on the shuttle and made sure we were safe while we were out skiing. I’d like to return to try Sea to Summit’s wine tours or coastal tours!

Wonderful half-day tour (Public Tour - Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls Tour) with guide Joshua. We stopped at Chanticleer Viewpoint and Crown Point with the Vista House. Of course we also stopped at several waterfalls: Latourell Falls, Shepperd's Dell, Wahkeena Falls, Multnomah Falls and Horsetail Falls. We were given time to hike to Multnomah Falls via Wahkeena Falls. Then we stopped at a Fish hatchery and the Bonneville Dam with the Columbia River Salmon Ladders. Joshua was very helpful and informative. We highly recommend this half-day tour.

Sea to Summit was prompt, efficient and affordable. We were picked up in downtown Portland (on time!) and driven to Timberline Lodge the day after a major snow storm had hit Mt. Hood. The roads on the mountain were treacherous but Joshua (our driver on our trip up Mt. Hood and on the return back to Portland later that week) made us all feel safe with his competent driving skills and 4x4 van. Pre-trip, he promptly answered all our questions, either by direct phone contact, return phone calls and/or email, putting our minds at ease and reassuring us we were in capable hands. Joshua was kind, helpful and courteous. I highly recommend this business.

I read about this tour online and called Sea to Summit to book it. (I couldn't find a way to sign up online, which is too bad--perhaps I overlooked something?) Josh was very helpful in working with me even when my departure point changed the morning of the trip. I was impressed with his helpfulness. He picked me up in a 24 passenger bus right when he said he would. There were 8 other people on the tour. It was impressive that he picked up and dropped everyone off from their hotels.

In the course of the day, we saw and learned about some incredible places that I could not have seen since I did not have a car. We visited at least two waterfalls, saw salmon swimming upstream, stopped off at an orchard, and spent time at Mt Hood.

Josh was good about giving our group options for what we wanted to do when possible (although it seemed like the people in the front seemed to determine the option for everyone). I felt like we had an adequate amount of time at each stop (although you could of course stay longer on your own). We did spend a good bit of the afternoon driving--the actual tour activities ended around 3:30.

At Timberline Lodge at Mt Hood, Josh recommended the ski lift, which looked fun but cost $15. I did a bit more exploring and discovered some great trails behind the lodge that also had incredible views. I recommend hiking on these trails and saving yourself $15. I was even able to walk up to a patch of ice on one of the trails--in July.

Bring money for extras like the ski lift, lunch (expensive if your group decides to eat at Timberline), and a tip. And definitely bring a camera to capture so many amazing and diverse places!

With a car and a bit more time to plan, I could probably have done most of the activities on the tour by myself. Some people will undoubtedly choose to do that. But for me, the convenience and quality of this tour won out. I feel satisfied that I saw a lot of the beauty of Oregon in the day I had available for sightseeing. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to others.

My friend & I just returned from a fabulous tour of the waterfalls, Columbia River Gorge, Bonneville, Mt. Hood,& the Timberline Lodge. Joshua, our driver/guide, did a great job - he was knowledgeable about not only the basic information, but also the geological history. Being from the country, I was very impressed w/ his respect/appreciation for nature. Long, but rewarding day!
We also have to say "Thank you" to Joshua for taking our call @ the last minute - great sense of humor!

The tour was well worth the $125 per person. I would recommend this tour to couples and/or groups looking to taste yummy Oregon wines.

Pros: Our driver and guide Sean was very knowledgeable about wine, wine-making, wineries, and anything else we seemed to ask him about. He took us to the Red Hills Market, which had AMAZING sandwiches and snacks. The van was very clean and comfortable. The wineries we toured were: Rex Hills, Vista Hill, Argyle, and Erath. They were all beautiful and the wine was great.

Cons: The smoke from the WA wildfires blocked most of our views; nothing that Sea-to-Summit could do anything about obviously.

We initially did the day tour to the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood. We got picked up from our hotel right on time (also they were very good about sending reminder e-mails, in advance, regarding the reservation details and procedures), and their tour vehicle was new/clean and spacious. During our entire trip, our tour guy, Shahn (correct spelling), was giving us very good information on the areas we were seeing, both leading up to our locations in the vehicle, and when we got to the spots. We had ample time to explore, and Shahn was very down to earth, informative, and answered all questions. I could tell that he knew the terrain and locations quite well, and he has extensive knowledge of the areas we toured, as well as regarding Portland and Oregon as a whole. What put things about the tour from very good to excellent and beyond expectations was that when I discussed with Shahn our desire to see the Oregon coast the next day, he put the wheels in motion to make it happen, even though we did not have a reservation in advance, and he took us on a tremendous tour of the coast the following day. I can't say enough how great he and his company was. He was great with our kids, and as a parent that meant the most to me. Bottom line- you cannot go wrong with this company! Anyone that knows me will say that I am a pretty picky and particular customer, and I honesty saw the motto "can do, will do" in action with Shahn and his company.

We took the Columbia Gorge & Mt. Hood tour and had a FANTASTIC time. Our guide Shahn was extremely insightful. He had a great personality that was completely natural and you felt more like you are getting shown around by a good friend. We went to beautiful breathtaking sites at what seemed like the perfect times avoiding the big crowds. We even made a couple of surprise stops since we had a bit more time. Shahn even spent time with us after the tour to give us recommendations on other things to see and do in other parts of Oregon that we were visiting. I highly recommend this tour.

Sea to Summit is a great small local business! We enjoyed a half day tour that allowed us to explore the waterfalls and other sites along the historic Columbia River Gorge. Joshua is the business owner and was our tour guide for the trip. He was very knowledgable about the area and acted as a great photographer to snap some pictures for us. We would definitely use this company again when we venture back to Portland one day!

This was a wonderful half day trip that allowed us to explore the Portland natural attractions. Most of the tour is outdoors so be prepared for rain and some light walking.
