This was my last stop on the Distilleries tour. Nice sampleing of fine crafted spirits. Friendly staff. Location has been in a state of flux so call ahead and find the current location. I left with a bottle of coffee rum. You can also find their spirits in Term D of the airport for the same price so you can... More

I suppose as you go through the distillery row- the further along you are the better they would become. I highly recommend not hitting more than one or two at a time- otherwise you will be sideways. Servers pour generously. Be safe and catch a ride. I was a little disappointed because we arrived at 2:30 expecting a tour but... More

House Spirits makes some of the best Gin and Whiskey coming out of Portland Oregon today. At some point I hope to visit their behind the scenes operations, but on this trip the tasting room alone was a LOT of fun. They make several different types of spirits, although their most well known is Aviation Gin. It's one of the... More

We arrived at House Spirits Distillery and took the short, but fun and informative, tour of the distillery. It is one room, so we thought the tour would be short, but the guide clearly understood the entire process and made the tour enjoyable. The tour probably would have been longer had we not understood the distilling process already. We then... More

With high concentration of craft microbreweries and wineries in the Portland area, it's no surprise that craft distilleries are emerging as well. We visited Friday afternoon and were the only tasters while there, so we had the full attention of the staff. Aviation gin is their flagship product, an interesting change of pace from the typical juniper-forward gin. They also... More

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The tastings we had were wonderful but because it was busy weekend (there was an event going on) we were not able to tour the distillery. That did not however dissuade us from buying some of the best gin I have ever tasted. Considering how busy they were I think they did a great... More

We recently visited Portland for the weekend and, because we weren't able to check into our hotel room yet, took a taxi right from the airport to House Spirits. The staff in the tasting room was knowledgeable and friendly. They offered to put our bags to the side while we took the tour of the distillery. The tour itself was... More

I had read about the Portland Distillery District tours in Sunset magazine and couldn't wait to try the Aviation Gin here on our upcoming Portland area vacation. The afternoon we spent, starting at House Spirits Distillery, was the highlight of our visit. The "bartender" here (tour guide? Mixologist?) was passionate about the craft and we not only tasted great spirits,... More
